Ok, so the ring has gone back to the seller once for a "gap" between the diamond and the prong. I sent pictures. Here's an initial look
So he agreed to take it back (I paid shipping there, he paid it coming back). When asking him to advise as to what I should do (send back to him or go local), he chose the former. So I did. I got it back today and it looks worse!
I understand that it's not going to be perfect (or can it?). When working with prongs that may not be 100% identical and a diamond that's not necessarily 100% symmetrical, there will be some imperfections in the setting. Now, I'm not too worried about the "look" due to the gap. As you can see, there's a slight dent in the prong that I can live with (also addressed that too the first time). The worry is, is it safe? I definitely don't want to see the day the fiancee comes home and the diamond fell out! Opinions? Advice? Thanks!
edit: forgot to mention the first pic's gap seems to have been addressed. The second pic's gap is new (I have pics of the prongs when I first noticed the first gap and it was a tight sit then).
