Help. Is my new emerald about to explode into 1000 pieces?

Hello everyone
Please help me. Keep or return? My first thought was "Is it stable enough to set" i feel like it's way too fragile esp in one corner

This is my first emerald. Oiled. Columbia. 1.61ct The colour Is ok to my eyes very bright outdoors. not so sure about the cracks.

It's entirely possible that I'm just not used to looking at this type of inclusion and idk what im looking at

The Kosnars are reputable sellers, so I would ask them what they think. You didn't say whether they cut the stone, but even if they didn't, they probably have a good idea of its structural integrity.

* edit: I did get it for a price I considered to be cheap. If that counts. I'm just really unsure of the cracks. ??? It's a dilemma

It looks to be heavily included; you might have a hard time finding a bench willing to risk setting it. Definitely not a ring stone but might be fine as a pendant stone.

I would keep looking. You can find light colored emeralds of that size with much less inclusions.

Yes, I agree. I wouldn't settle for this one. Go smaller, and get better quality. Inclusions in emeralds (jardin) are acceptable, and expected, but there are much nicer emeralds out there.

Thanks every one. I'm returning it. Kosnar was very easy to deal with. I was stressing about returning something but she was lovely.
