have you seen this stone in person?

no. too good to be true?

.....you knew what i was getting at............ yes, it does.

a quick search on the pricescope database for emerald cut diamonds between 2.2 - 2.5 cts, H color, VVS2 clarity, indicates that you would have to pay between $14,000 and $16,500 to purchase a stone like that from one of the online vendors. so--something''s up. who is offering the stone for sale? is it by any chance a private individual?

thanks for everyone''s advice. this is a private party and will likely hire an appraiser for inspection.

okay, i was going to say, if it''s a private party who''s anxious to unload the stone, and if the stone''s specs are what she claims them to be, then there''s a chance you''re looking at a great deal. just use an appraiser, as you said. good luck.

Well, the stone is pretty deep and perhaps the price reflects that. Even so, it''s still too cheap.

if it appraises to those #''s, you may have found something!! good luck!

let us know.........

will do :-)
