Hi All!

I have a .67 RB that I would really love to reset into a art-deco-y halo similar to the inspiration rings below. It is 5.69mm wide so that really limits my options. I could have one custom made however I would really love to have an antique setting as it makes it that much more special. Are there are ebay gurus out there that could help me find something that would work? I also plan on contacting JbEG and OWD to see if they know of anything.

I'm really open to design, however there are a few things that I would like to stick with.
-No plain halo as I think this will look to much like an ering. I would like to do a double halo or a dome design
-I'm open to sapphires/ rubies / emeralds of all treatments for this ring
-Ideally I would really like to keep this under 2k

TIA!

Wow, I really like that one Junebug!

Sarahbear, sorry no candidates from me. If I come across something in my browsings, I'll be sure to post it here! What are the dimensions of your stone?

Ohthat is gorgeous!!!!!!!!! And It would fit my stone perfectly plus I bet I could make an offer. My only issue is - that yes I was hoping for some colored stones to make it look less engagment ring. However if I can't find something that might be a great contender I will keep looking at.

Here's something a little different and the price is just great, also you didn't mention your preference in gold, white, platinum, rose/

I would like to try to keep it white gold or PLAT as to me that is more art deco. I always associate YG with the victorian era :)

Ok so this is a steal for the price but I really wanted something a bit more dramatic.

And another one that might be an option but still lacks the finger coverage I'm looking for.

So far I think Junebug has found the closest one yet, but I'm going to continue to keep looking.

Ok, I saw both those settings but thought they didn't match your inspiration pieces enough! From now on, I'm posting whatever I find and I'll let you be the judge! :D

I like both of those, and the second one is really pretty I think!

And I think the one I found is ornate enough not to look like an ering setting. But I hear ya and will continue searching!

I'm hanging out with my mother today, and I'll have plenty of time as I watch many episodes of the Mentalist, Law and Order etc. to browse around - if I find anything else I'll let you know!

Hey, Sarah! It looks like almost all of your inspiration pieces are bezel set ... if that's the look you want, it'd probably be easiest to have a repro made. Something like this, maybe? http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-RED...86629998?pt=US_Fine_Rings&hash=item27cf98eb6e Not those guys specifically, necessarily - I mean, it would keep you under budget, but I have no idea of the quality.

I DO know *these* guys have amazing quality, but I don't know if you're near NYC, or if they have any online presence beyond the FaceBook page. They're on 47th: I love to ogle their things, and when I've gone in to inquire about designs, the workmanship has been impeccable and the service very friendly. I alllllllllllllllmost went with the ring they use for their main icon for my reset, but opted to wait when they couldn't customize the gallery. But since you're feeling openminded, it might be worth inquiring ....

Looks like your theme. Although it comes with a diamond center I'm sure someone here would buy an old mine diamond (if that is accurate as they claim). Not a bad price under $1700

edit to add: haha I started looking thru that sellers other listings and saw that this is where your "inspiration" rings are located. All I can say is there are some fantastic pieces of jewelry there. What beautiful things.

Replace the four largest diamonds with sapphires.

dreamer thats exactly what i thought when i saw that ring. its stunning as it is and by changing out the 4 diamons for sapphires or rubys you'd get a lovely colored stone piece

Thought this looked familiar ... it starts to look downright reasonable compared to, say ... http://www.etsy.com/listing/1082362...o2&ga_explicit_scope=1&ga_search_type=vintage

Thanks Circe! I actaully noticed that the ebay store did a ring very similar to one of my inspiration rings in the past but I don't see it listed on their site now.

As far as Authentic jewelry their stuff is amazing but I'm several hours outside of NYC so I wouldn't be able to get to them. :blackeye:

I was actually debating that....how much do you think it would cost? The other issue is that I don't have a jeweler in the area that I think it fantastic so I would need to find someone to polish this setting and reset everything. I don't know of a vendor who would do that when I supply the diamond and setting.

Ok so this is not an antique but it is really what I'm looking for! Plus at $725 it is wayyyyyy under budget. I'm debating purchasing it to see what the quality is like.

Sarah, I'd contact the seller and ask about the quality. He is very responsive, maybe he can point you to exactly the right thing.

I did I have a feeling he will say the pictures is pretty true to life. Just looking at the photo you can see it isn't perfect but the price is amazing. I'm really going between this one and the first one that Junebuy posted but switch out the 4 diamonds for something else.

Don't forget Engagement Rings Direct has the Royal T collection. Too many pretties to list pics.

Thanks Junebug, I was called away to hot chocolate duty and Snow Day snow fort assistance.

Anybody have an idea of the price of these settings?

OMG those are gorgeous. I just emailed them for a price quote on this one:
http://www.engagementringsdirect.com/art-deco-platinum-ring-pid-1061-44.html

I'm sort of scared as the 2 on top are for over 9k. I know they are hand forged and include the price of the center diamonds...so I'm hoping that is the reason for the price hike.

Wow!!!! These are so beautiful rings...from where did you buy these??

I think you mean where can you buy these beautiful rings. Most of them are from an ebay store. Mel's Antiques or something like that. Some of the other photos are from my inspirtation album that I have had forever so I'm not sure where the source is.

Just to update everyone I checked in with LuAnn about some gabriel settings to see if they could change the halos from diamonds to emeralds or tsavs. As is the settings are just at the top of my budget. I really have to decide about either getting a super cheap setting off of ebay that I like or spend the extra $$ and get something closer to my inspiration pictures. Right now I'm waiting on quotes from ERD, OWD and IDJ.

Thanks for the update Sarah! I understand your dilemma - it's a tough call, but I'm confident you're going to end up with a lovely ring no matter what you choose! Keep us posted!

I love the ERD setting you posted!
