Hi there,

I am going to be getting two pair of studs so that I can wear them at the same time in two holes in my ears.

I am going to be buying the smaller size first, but I wanted some opinions on the best size for what I think I will buy for my larger pair.

I obviously want the largest size I can get for my smaller ones, but I don''t want to get them so large that I force myself to need to buy too large of a larger pair to make them proportional.

I would like 1ct TW - 1.50TW for my larger pair. If I have a nice size pair of smaller weight earrings then saving more to get a larger pair will not be so hard. Right now, I just want some type of earrings now. I would also possibly be happy with right under 1ct TW to save money with the possibility of upgrading at a later date to get something between 1.20-1.50 someday.

So is .33 each a good size, even if I end up getting .75 each in the larger size someday? Or should I try to get something in the .40 each for my smaller size.
Is .40 too large for a smaller size? Should I just stick in the .33-.36 range and get something that is about 4.5 mm. If I end up with .50 each that is only 5.2 mm. If I got the .40, they may end up looking almost the same size.

What do you all recommend for the smaller size. I want something that is large enough to be noticed that I can wear sooner than I would be able to save for a 1ct TW size. I don''t want to go too large though, that it doesn''t look good with the larger ones I get someday.

Thank you for your help.

A lot will depend on the size of your earlobes. I have a girlfriend who wears 10 pointers on the top and 25 pointers on the bottom. She has very small earlobes and that combination looks great on her for everyday wear. Maybe wait until you get your different sizes of sets from Wink and see what combination looks best to you.

It depends on what looks good on your ears. But, having purchased a pair of diamond e.r. I can offer some advice.

First, e.r. aren't scrutinized like a ring. So, you can sacrifice on quality for size.

Second, the nicest value for your money is in the .38 - .45 or so size. I ended up purchasing two stones of approximately .43 each. The total weight being about .86 tcw. They are a nice size. I purchased them for my 21 year old niece. But, my friend tried them on (45 years) & they were a nice size for her as well.

good luck .

Having tried on a lot of diamond earrings, for me, .30 is too small. I really like .75 or so but it's out of my price range. I think close to 1/2 carat is a really nice look: it shows up all flashy and sparkly without being too ostentatious..

hmm..for the double earringed look, i'd definitely try on the different sizes in your ears first. you have to see what you think looks good on your ear. First try, then buy!
