Hi, i'm new to the forum and keen to discover the history of a ring I found. I'm from Australia and found this ring around 20 years in a rock pool off the Victorian Coast. It's been laying around in a box since then and I recently found it again when cleaning up and wanted to know where it may have come from. I can only see one small marking, but not able to make out what it is. Hoping someone on here maybe able to help. Cheers

I can't quite tell from the pictures but it looks like it's stamped .925, which means it is sterling silver, or 925/1000 parts silver, the rest being an alloy of usually copper to strengthen. The 925 sterling standard was adopted in 1878 in the United States.
