help identify this extremely old pair of earrings they look to be from India I know they are dirty but there are also missing pieces of stone or glass so I am afraid to clean them.
I have no background on them so any information would be appreciated.

When new, they would have been very beautiful.
It looks like one of the ear wire attachments is missing, but I don't think it's worth repairing.
I don’t even know how I came across this post so many months later, but in case you’re interested in knowing more, that style is called a chaandbaali (singular, literally translates to moon-earring). Theyre indeed from India. Actually my favourite traditional earring style! These do look quite damaged. They are probably brass since the workmanship doesn’t look as fine as I would expect.
