Help id this old gold ring with a garnet

I have this vintage possibly antique gold ring from my grandmother I would like to know the age and where it was made. I cant make out the hallmark. Thanks for any help

It's not very old at all. Maybe 1980s-90s.
That's when the checkerboard cut became popular thanks to designers like David Yurman.
