Hello Everyone,
Thank you for all the information over the past few days.

My girlfriend and I are ready to take the plunge! We found a setting that she REALLY likes at a local jewelry store. The ring is white gold and has a slightly thick band that is almost squared off at the bottom. It has 4 (i think) small stones running up each side for a total of .37 carat. It is made by Venetti although I can''t find it on their site; the jeweler called it a European design. It makes sense that she liked it because she is from Europe.

The ring without a stone is $1258.00 This is acceptable. However, in my opinion he is asking way to much for his diamonds. I won''t go into that but the short story is I need to find a diamond that meets these criteria:

Princess Cut. No specific carat size but I''m thinking between .80 and 1.00 based on the girdle size I need. Color G or H and SI1 or SI2.

The setting needs a diamond that is around 5.2mm or larger measured at the girdle. A stone that was 4.33 was WAY to small, and a 4.96mm stone was barely large enough. I think 5.2 or larger would be good. Any smaller and the ring dwarfs the diamond.

My budget for the stone is $2100. This will hopefully keep me below my total amount of $3500 by the time the stone is set.
I realize that these conditions don''t make for the most favorable diamond, but that''s okay. I just want to get the best stone I can for the money.

I have found a few stones on brilliance.com, but I would rather hear your suggestions before I list these.
Thank you everyone for your time and advice. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Have you searched this site for that stone? You can enter in those specs and search pricescope.
