Help deciding on a push present...

Hi ladies and gents! This is my first time doing a poll so I hope it comes out ok.

I have a dilemma...a good dilemma...on what to get for a push present for our second baby due in July. It was a long road getting pregnant and I really want something special to represent this time in our lives. FYI for my son's birth I got a BGD shared prong bangle.

My very first thought was to have my three stone ring (.25 carat each side stone, .5 carat center) made into an aurora band using the .25's as the larger stones. I really wanted full eternity but there is no way it is going to be in the budget. So, if I went with this option I could do half eternity through BGD or full eternity through IDJ. They found a setting from Unique settings of New York. I will post pics.

But then I thought to myself...for this amount of money I could reset my engagement ring and get a new matching band. I was all excited for this option and got a great quote from BGD, but then I started to think to myself that this didn't seem to be a good push present and maybe would make a better 10 year anniversary present (next year will be 10 years!) And custom still SCARES me a little!

Then I started to think that a nice pair of studs somewhere in the 1 ctw or higher range is something that I don't have and would like to have at some point and thought this would be a nice push present versus the ring options.

My thoughts at the moment are to get the studs as they are the lowest ticket item and something on my wish list and then save for the reset for end of next year.

I hope I'm not interrupting pics, Lizzyann. I like the idea of getting studs now and doing the reset (and new band) next year for your anniversary.

I'd go studs now... and then add JACKETS later on!! (check out the surge in jacket fever lately - myself included )

I like the idea of being able to see your push present so that it reminds you of your child when you see it.
You cant see the earrings and the upgrade doesnt seem right either. I would probably go with the eternity band.

This is exactly what I was thinking! I really like the idea of the band too.

Thanks to everyone who voted so far! I am still so torn. The reset is what I want the most but it just doesn't seem appropriate for a push present you know? I also know that if I do the full eternity from IDJ, I will not be able to do the reset next year. Both of these are the highest ticket items. I think I'm down to either pulling the trigger and doing the reset this year, or getting the studs this year and doing the reset next year. Another thought I had was to reset the engagement ring this year and do the matching wedding band next year. Like I said a dilemma...but a fun, good dilemma to have!

Missgotrocks, I also like the studs now, reset later approach too! We actually are not finding out what we are having. It's going to be a surprise! It took us a year and IVF to get pregnant this go round so we would like to go the surprise route! It will be worth the wait!

I would get something that you aren't going to upgrade so one of the bands.

You can't see it unless you wear it and that full eternity band doesn't look that practical, especially when you're having fun with two little ones. I'd go with a half eternity band.
