Ok, I''m feeling like I struck out on a lovely diamond that I saw listed on WF--I had already decided on it and felt very comfortable with the decision. Now I''m back to square one and hoping that you all can help me in comparing a couple of diamonds. I think both are very well cut--I''ve decided that I''m much more comfortable compromising a bit on clarity and more than most on color. I don''t think that I or my soon to be fiance will be very color sensitive at all--particularly since I"m looking at something like .8 ctw.

But now that I"m looking at other stones that I"m not perfectly satisfied with I''m finding it hard to make choices. So you know I"m trying to stay around $3000-$3500 for the whole ring. I don''t think I''m being too crazy about this since I''m willing to compromise on the color (the other stone was a K!). Maybe others disagree.

At any rate--here are a couple that I''m really struggling between (both around .8 ctw):

1) K SI1 61.5 depth; 56.9 table; 34.7 crown angle; 40.8 pavilion angle; HCA 1.5 TIC

2) J SI1 61.7 d; 55.8 t; 34.7 cr angle; 40.7 pav angle; HCA 1.1 TIC

I''ll be trying to attach the images in the next post in this thread.

Thanks a ton for the help!

Image of the K diamond--I think the color is great. No concerns about the K color; but the inclusion concerns me just a bit. Do people think this will be a problem? Will it be visible? Should I be worried?

Here is the IS of the K diamond. I think this looks really very good. Probably a little bit better than the J as I look at it. I might be off there. Both of the diamonds are AGS Ideal Cut--so I''m figuring both will be excellent in light performance.

Here is the image of the J diamond. Again, the color doesn''t bother me. Really no different from the K in my mind and as I said, I''m not worried much about the color. There is an inclusion in this one, as well, but I''m thinking it is much less noticable and if it weren''t for the 40x magnification no one would notice it given good light performance.

Finally is the IS of the J. Very, very similar to the K in here. I feel like the light return might be a little better for the K than for this one. I think this is such a difficult decision! HELP!!

Numbers and images are excellent on both. I worry a little about the feather under the table on the J--whether it is eye-clean. It is probably OK, but would recommend calling Whiteflash and have someone look at both diamonds to verify eye-clean and give you an overall impression.

Ditto Jetskis.

Thritto.

Thanks so much for the responses! Funny--I was so worried about the inclusion on the K and others are more concerned about the J. Glad to get some greater expertise on this. And thanks for the suggestion of calling Whiteflash. I didn''t even know I could really do that!

All MUCH appreciated!
