I am getting ready to propose and want to make sure i get the right diamond. Simply stated my girlfriend has a small hand....ring size 2 3/4. that said i really want to get the right diamond and cannot go larger than 1.5 ct....that said cut is really important to me.

I have considered this diamond:

measurements 7.23x7.34x4.63
1.51ct
depth 63.6
table 56

but because it is prior to GIA certifying the cut and i dont know if it falls into the ideal characteristics. I have been working with a jewler but am also considering some with whiteflash...

I just want to get the best cut for my money. which ones do you guys like? should i be concerned about

If you want to be safe, stick with whiteflash, good old gold etc... The one you considered is way too deep and you will be wasting carat weight and it will look smaller up top. Light leakage will very likley occur too. Also 7.23 to 7.34 is often considered out of round due to the over .10 mm variation. You will get some great advice here! Also, whiteflash and good old gold have upgrade policies too!!!! Have you picked a ring yet? Whiteflash gives a discount if you do it all there. Also, if you have a total budget you are working with, you can post it and this will help people out with suggestions. Good luck!!!

Ditto. Please don't get that stone you posted.

With a finger that small (good heavens she's lucky), you can shoot for anywhere in the 1.2 range to just under 1.5 (thus saving a big price jmp) that will look very substantal on her hand. As for the stones you posted from WF, it's hard to say, because they don't have Idealscope pics. So here's a few I would recommend.

If eyeclean on SI1's, need to check. Don't let the inclusions scare you, many are totally eyeclean. They will be quite honest with you. Discount is bankwire price.

If you looking at Whiteflash stick to the ACAs and you can't go wrong (although their supply of 1.5 ct looks limited right now). They are gorgeous! You have a nice budget and a small ring size so you can go for the best cut in the size you are looking for. Lucky!

If you can go down in color here is a 1.51 ct. http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/5200/
