I don't like either.

Give me budget and dimensions/carat weight you are shooting for and I'll search tonight to see if I can find you anything better. The first one is better than the second. But I still don't like that one either.

Why do you not like either 1 of those stones? just want to learn!!

Budget 6k-8k including ring
Setting will be a 3stone setting emerald side stones and center stone
center stone 1.2 to 1.5

I don't like either either (I agree with Gypsy) .

The second one has a big dark ring and the faceting pattern on the first one does not look
very crisp in the windmills. This stone is just ok if you ask me.

That looks great to me but then again I'm no expert. lol They all look great. Thanks for your input. Except this one will be above budget. The setting from James Allen is another 2k for white gold and $2500 for platinum. The setting is a 3 stone emerald setting with 2 smaller emerald on the side.
That would put me 10k in the hole.

Guess the Hunt still continues, any other recommendations?

Thanks For the info Gypsy... and all.

So I assume you are recommending these 3 stones you posted. And once I get the aset report I can decide which one to choose from??? Guess I will need to read up on aset report, this is the first time I hear of it. Once I get report I will post to get your opinion.

Of those 3 which do you think is the best?
My wallet likes the price of the 1.13 but the others wont break the bank either. Is there much of a visible diff between 1.13 & 1.20?

Asking the wrong question. The carat weight tells you nothing. You need to look at the dimensions of the stones. They will let you decide for yourself how much difference there is between them.

ASET is a tool that you take a picture through and it tells you how much and what type of light is being reflected by the facets.

One you have the ASET and the gemologist's comments about all three stones, post them and we'll help you pick. :wavey:

Thanks Julie for input and recommendation. Stone 2 from other vendor would still be in my budget.
I have requested the aset pics for those stones and will post as soon as I get them, prob tues or wed they told me.

Aset images are in. What do you think? Seems like there is not enough red to me.
Gypsy would you choose any of these or keep searching? Although I would like to purchase asap I def have time to keep searching for the one.
Thanks

Gemologist comments;

You'll be happy to hear that diamond 1502379 (1.20crt G VS2) is perfectly eye clean and great light performance. In addition to being bright, it has a nice "G" color and the gemologist really favored its cut and shape. It has the nicest, most symmetrical appearance and will look fantastic in any setting.

Some of the inclusions in diamond 1490914 (1.13crt G VS2) will be visible to the unaided eye and reflect within the diamond. It has great light performance and a nice outline as well. Diamond 1330027 (1.20crt G VS1) is eye clean but appears darker due to it having some windowing. Its shape is less traditional because its shoulders are rather wide.

Diamond 1502379 is the clear winner of the group! It's our gemologist's favorite option and I strongly recommend it for your diamond purchase.

2 is nice but not spectacular. If it were me I'd call Mark at Engagement Rings Direct or Jon at Good Old Gold. JA doesn't have anything else, these were the only three I found worth a shot.

Hi jlt, thanks for posting a link JulieN!

jlt- I was a little confused as it seems you were referring to us ( stone #2 from other vendor)- but we did not get a request for an ASET photo

Thanks to all for your time and quick response.
Based on these aset images am I correct that there is not enough red in these images?

@ Rockdiamond I only requested aset from JA from the 3 that Gypsy had posted from JA.

As I search other sites what are some the measurements, (table, depth, etc) I should be looking for when looking thru? That way I can narrow down choice and request aset image after?

Here is the AGA cut grade, I like to keep it within the 2A range, which is 58-70% table.

I find it too limiting. I really think you should get one of the vendors known for finding bright beautiful emeralds (ERD and GOG) find one for you. They will be able to provide you with everything you need. ERD tends to be slightly more affordable.
