I think I found the one but I just want to be sure. I cant use the HCA tool on this one and I asked for an ASET, I hope to have it in a few days. I know I dont have the eyes and experience to check out this diamond so would you? Is there any way to tell if the diamond will be bright? It look a little dark and I just dont want a dark yellow diamond for her. I have seen a few great K ones and I am hoping this is one.

1.18 K VVVS2
Ideal cut
Depth 67.6
Table 61.0
Polish and Symmetry both very good

I know nothing about cushions, but the pattern of this one is to die for!
I love it!

Thank you. Do you know if there is any way to tell if it will be bright?

It's difficult, but you have to be patient and wait for the ASET.
Did I say I'm in love with the pattern of this diamond? Wow.

If you are worried about color, why not go up in color and go down in clarity a little? I think K will have a noticeable tint, is your GF ok with this?

Im not worried about the color. I want to be sure that its bright and not dark. I dont know if that makes any sense.

So I ordered just a simple setting that I thought I had seen on other cushions. I was told by Brian Gavin Diamonds that the setting was not for square diamonds.

Here is what the said. "Hi Joel,

That setting is primarily made for round stones - you can try and have your stone set into it but there are no guarantees. In addition, if the setting is worked on at all it is a final sale. You may want to reconsider?"

Should I cancel the order? I know that I am going to get her a diamond that is cushion cut and I am 99% sure its the 1.18 K VVS2. Am I doing something wrong by ordering that setting? Or maybe I should ask where can I find a simple four prong setting for a cushion cut.

Why not ask what solitaire setting they recommend for a square cushion? I am sure others have ordered cushions in a simple solitaire setting before. I would just be worried that you get that one and for whatever reason (too thin) or something and then you have to buy a whole new setting or if this setting can't be modified, you'd still have to get another one and take the hit on the cost of this one.
