Happy Friday! Would you please help me select 2 or 3 stones I should ask JA for add’l info on? Budgeting abt $7500 and hoping to get dimensions close to 1.5 ct eye clean, well cut. These caught my eye, but if I need to start over please tell me! I’m sticking with JA as that is where my setting and band are from, and they have been extremely helpful. I think I will be happy with J; my last Stone was an AVC L, vs2, 1.0ct. Thank you in advance for your guidance! Colette

And then there’s this one that’s over budget, but I like it of course:

This should be all of them in my comparison view

my 2 cents...

1 - Not for me...looks like it has leakage under table...not an attractive stone IMO
2 - Clouds are low on the inclusion list so may be fine...has good numbers. Its an "I" I would pick this one for a further look.
3 - I would prefer a slightly higher crown. I would probably choose this one as my third one to have looked at.
4 - Would need idealscope...dont like inclusions
5 - slightly smaller...slightly deep, need idealscope
6 - larger...need idealscope, needs inclusion evaluation but looks like could be nice. I would pick this as one to look at since its larger.

Thank you!! I so appreciate your reply! I will ask them to look 2 6 and 3 with me! Do you know, do they limit you if I end up rejecting these 3 and want to look at different ones? I have a couple others I didn’t put in my original post because I already felt it was toooo much

I think they will do three idealscope images per email address. Not sure if that's three per lifetime, or per year, or per month.

But if you have another email address...

Well I was clueless and not expecting this, turns out none of the 3 diamonds are available for inspection since not in NY office. So they said will email me a few in stock.

since I had band/Ering setting from JA thought it made sense to stay with them. But this one is in price range and from Whiteflash - do you like it?

I like that Whiteflash one the best. No guessing, all the information is at your fingertips to make a decision. I would put that on hold. There are a lot of lurkers here. PS is a bit slower on the weekends too so this is why not a lot of feedback. But definitely put the stone on hold while you think about it.
My J is SI-1, with med. blue from WF & is completely eye clean. =)2

LOL That's good. Now you can relax a little knowing you have a bit of time to look around as well in case something comes up. I'd go with WF for the stone. I'm a customer of JA as well but it seems lately they don't have images or can't get them or you have to buy the stone before they can provide the image..oh, too much. Plus, if at any point you want to upgrade, it will be easier with WF.

Did you look through BN?

Ahhh, I did look at BN but then I increased budget (despite husband’s frown) and hadn’t checked again. I think I’ve found a keeper with WF and they said I can send them my setting - they should be able to switch out the head. On Monday WF is going to call me to talk about the stone, and arrange Pymt if I’m going for it. It wouldn’t get me to1.5 but darn close - I think will be noticeably larger than the cushion stone I’m replacing which was roughly 6.2*5.9. Thank you all for the help!

Oh great news about repurposing your ring, that will help tremendously.

Ironically, I just purchased an AVC 6.66 x 6.20. for a right hand ring LOL I'm going to have to be creative in making that stone grow so voila, I'll be doing a 3 stone. LOL Oh ya, coming from an AVC, you will enjoy the size bump going to the round. :mrgreen2:

Ccuheartnurse we must be on same wavelength! loved my AVC, but I will still only have one diamond. The AVC is lost from the setting, can’t find it, tore everything apart, setting prongs look fine to me. I did have it sized down recently - but like 4 mo ago. So I’ll be switching probably to a six prong or basket :(2 - apparently I’m obliviously clumsy. And I’m an US tech that won’t be wearing the ring to work anymore (but I didn’t lose it there - maybe frequent glove changing wore it down). Anyway, only thing that makes this awfulness better is bigger.

If you are a tech and not disallowed from wearing the ring, why not get a bezel setting so you can wear it to work? There are many that are just lovely? JA makes a really simple one (https://www.jamesallen.com/engageme...-bezel-set-diamond-engagement-ring-item-53652). You could have WF price you something similar or buy from JA and send to WF for setting.

Edited
to add: Sholdt also makes some very nice bezels, and they can be acquired through LoveAffairDiamonds if WF can't get them.

Thanks for the setting ideas I’ll take a look! James Allen sent me a list of alternate diamonds they have in house, and all have idealscopes available:

1. https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...j-color-vs2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-4539553

2. https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...j-color-si1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-4528708

3. https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...j-color-vs2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-4740920

4. https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...k-color-vs1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-4539554

I think the WF Stone will still be the best option, unless anyone thinks I should request idwalscopes on any of these?

Here is a relative size difference between your 6.2x5.9 cushion and the WF stone on a size 6 finger...nice increase. 27% more surface area on the round

All those latest JA stones are smaller than the WF except the "K" (with repect to actual size). I personally would stick to the WF stone due to
the upgrade policy. If you want to move up in color (or size)...you only have to find a WF stone that cost more
than your original WF stone. At JA you have to spend 2x your original cost (which pretty much makes it prohibitive
when talking about larger stones). Plus the WF stones are Super Ideal Branded AGS000 stones with H&A.

None of those JA stones tick any boxes. Most are too deep & angles aren't ideal. Stick with WF. If you look at the diameters, the WF one is bigger than some of the JA ones as tyty33 mentioned. :sun:

I missed the part that you lost your AVC. Sorry to hear that. I would also suggest either 6 prongs, bezel or even an inset bezel with prongs look. The bezel will make it look a bit bigger too. ;-) I never wear my diamond rings to work. I move too many beds, transport patients for diagnostic procedures etc. It's just not worth the worry. I wear a plain gold band. If you don't have a plain gold band, might I suggest the Cartier rolling ring. :D

I have a question for you cause I'm a bit confused as to what I'm going to do. I have the K AVC, & want to do a 3 stone AVC. The only 2 little side stones are M & they don't have any in the J-K range. They have H's which is too white with the K. You think the M will be too tinted? I will either go with french cut traps or just regular traps if I don't go with the AVC side stones. The 3 stone will be bezeled. Thoughts? Ok, thread jack over. LOL

Ccuheartnurse I purchased the WF diamond and went with a 6 prong for now being set by Whiteflash on my existing setting! I’m just going to wear my band to work for now on also~I’m sorry I only realized today you posted a question in your reply, I don’t think it I’m qualified to answer- but at least I know enough to come to pricescope for help! Of course I think it would be beautiful, but I’m not very color sensitive. This is a GOG video which includes both a K and M if you haven’t seen it.
