Generally speaking, would you consider a GIA diamond with HCA "Very good" results? So between a 2-4 I believe? A lot of the stones I run through are falling in that, and it says worth buying if the price is right. Just curious to hear some expert opinions. Thank you!!

There are a few exceptions just over 2, but it is best to stick with excellent.

Would you say an exception would be if it had a stamp of approval, say from Brian Gavin in his select line? (Not signature).

Thanks again!!

It's ok. HCA is very simple, it doesn't take into account a few things. Up to 3 is ok, with an Ideal Scope to confirm.

Hmm with Brian's stamp of approval and an IDEALSCOPE image I would consider buying.

I am not sure his select stones are in house. They may have chosen those from a virtual list as good possibilities. But since there are no images or idealscopes on those, it leads me to think they are virtual. So unless a stone is indeed in hand and has had those images done, then it doesn't really have Brian's stamp of approval. That is definitely not the same as WF Expert Selection or GOG Premium stones.

Yes- I though poster meant that Brian explicitly said this stone was good. If its merely listed on virtual inventory it's not necessarily premium
