Hi! First time post, and wanted to thank everyone for the great advice. I''m buying an engagement ring and have been using the HCA as a cutoff for well cut diamonds.
My question is this: How do I reconcile a Very Good GIA cut grade with a HCA score < 2.0?
Ex 1: Round 1.31c H VS1
VG cut / Ex polish / Ex sym
D 61.8%
T 55%
CA 36.5
PA 40.2
HCA 1.1 Ex/Ex/Ex/VG
Ex 2: Round 1.56c H SI1
VG cut / VG polish / VG sym
D 59.1%
T 58%
CA 33.5
PA 40.6
HCA 0.6 Ex/Ex/Ex/Ex
Will the rounding off of the GIA numbers make any of these diamonds worse than a 2.0 on the HCA calculator in reality?
Do these look like good diamonds on paper?
