Ok, so I was resisting doing this but it is now officially the last minute. I need to find a diamond ASAP, which is not a good position to be in

. I''ve done a ton of research, but I just can''t seem to find what I am looking for. I''ve got about $7500 to spend on a rock to put in a pave Tacori setting and I am looking for a:

1.25 F SI1 ID/ID Ideal Cut
that is eye clean and scores well on the HCA. Simple enough one would think, but I just can''t seem to find my ideal stone anywhere.

So far the best thing I have seen is:
1.21 E SI1 (GIA) VG/VG
6.89 - 6.93 diameter
60.4% depth
58% table (ags 1)
33.8% crown angle
41% pavilion angle
cutlet 1.2%, Girdle .9%-2.1%
$7500, which is not a bad deal, but it''s from a B&M and I don''t really want to pay sales tax if I don''t have to. I''d also prefer not to pay for an E and would rather have EX/EX instead.

Have you seen my diamond?

Is THIS your diamond?

Or maybe THIS is your diamond?

noobie, I was going to post that one next!

Patty-

The first one looks very nice. At this point I should probably expand myself to G color cause it's not like I could tell the difference when the I look at the stone on it's own. It seems as though there are way more G's out there in what I am looking for than F's. I think Tacori uses E/F for the side stones, but I HIGHLY doubt I could tell from just a one color difference.

Noobie- I have soooo had my eye on that GOG stone!!! It looks pretty much perfect for what I'm looking for. I guess my only concern is that Fluorescence is Medium Blue and I'm not so sure how the GF feels about it. I think that is the only thing keeping me from buying that one, cause it is a beauty. What I wonder is with medium blue, can you even tell?

Any more suggestions out there??
Thanks in advance, you all are the best, and this website ROCKS!!!!
I never thought this would be such an ordeal. I've learned a TON, but WOW, talk about overwhelming.

diamonddude, if you do a search on fluorescence, you'll see that it has been discussed a LOT here. I think the consensus is that it does not detract from a high color stone unless it gives it a milky or oily appearance. And that is VERY rare and usually occurs only with strong fluorescence.

Some people prefer fluorescence in their stones. It can give the stone a cool blue/violet hue in direct sunlight and of course, it will glow in the dark when you go through the spook house and tunnel of love!

dude,

Some people actually prefer blue fluorescence. It looks like slim pickings in the range you are looking for. If you are in a rush I would highly recommend hat you call GOG tomorrow morning first thing, talk to Jon and put that stone on hold. You never know who else is looking in that popular size range.

Me personally I would prefer the blue, it's novel and I'm sure GOG would not carry oily stones. What you could do is have both the Superbcert and GOG called in to an appraiser and go look at them. If you have enough credit card room, buy both and send the one back you don't like.

good luck. If you had more time, you could pick a vendor and have them find you one.

Just called GOG to buy my diamond. Someone bought it yesterday!!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!

I am bummed beyond belief.
I spent hours last night deciding that Fluor was the way to go, now...back to square one.

See if theres something like it that he can find or call a few other dealers and see what they can do.
