Do you think your current e-ring will be your forever ring? Or are you one of the PSers who finds the hunt more fun and likes to switch things up every few months/years? If you want, feel free to explain your vote, or add in a different option below.

My e-ring is my forever ring. I love it and can't picture wearing any other ring or loving another more enough to want to buy it.

Not yet. But i'm hoping to find my forever ring at some point soon.

Yes and no.

Yes in that I doubt we'll ever 1) have a large enough chunk of discretionary cash to pay for my "forever" ring and 2) choose to spend said chunk of cash on a ring rather than funding kids' college or retirement. So, by default, this is my forever ring.

No in that I like a variety of styles and if I could have my druthers, would change styles fairly frequently.

Yes, he gave me my forever ring. I will never exchange or get rid of this ring. That said, I'm good with ANOTHER ring for some milestone anniversary in our future :naughty:

I voted yes, I've found my forever ring.

I upgraded once already, and I think my current ring is the most beautiful ring in the entire world. ::) It really is perfect for me, stone to setting, and I can't imagine ever parting with it. Also, my stone is an antique cushion, and as an antique it has its own quirks and character. I would find it very difficult to part with this stone, because while others may be as or more beautiful, none of them will ever be *this* stone. And I've come to love its character very much.

Now, I'm certain I'll be getting a RHR in the future, and maybe two or three. But trade in my ring for another? Not going to happen.

When I wore my original engagement ring I really loved it, but there were details about it that I wished I could change. I hated the prongs. The ring itself was to blingy overall. Sometimes I would browse SMTB and find myself wishing I could trade that ring in for another. I've never experienced any of this with my current ring. Not even once.

No, just my forever husband.

Depends on what you mean by forever ring. I have my original engagement ring, and another ring I love. I wear my other ring more often and can't see ever trading it in. It's so beautiful, and so lovely and just so me. But I can't see getting rid of my original engagement ring. I also don't wear rings everyday, or sometimes wear a silver ring or a non-matching wedding band.

Yes, I think it's my forever ring. But I switch with other rings, fun rings or wedding band rings, and often don't wear rings at all.

No, I think if it was made up to my standards, it would be though.

=) aww

My original engagement ring will always be my forever ring - my husband's heart would break in half if I even MENTIONED trading it in or selling it. ;(

I am always happy to add to the collection though. I'm really loving my new cushion, but still have minor guilts about the massive price tag. I might downgrade in the future if the little voice in my head doesn't stop reminding me how many hundreds of street animals could be sterilized with what that stone cost... :blackeye:

HOLLA! +1

No it is not my forever ring..

If I still had my original e-ring from DH (1.06 carat princess, platinum solitaire), my answer would be yes. But it got damaged and I also no longer even have the diamond I bought to replace that one (a 1.33 carat round). So my current one is a .80 carat round in a beautiful solitaire. Is this one my forever ring? Maybe. Ideally, my stone would be bigger and possibly a different shape (princess or oval). But there's a good possibility that this is my forever diamond and I'm working on accepting that. DH is fully supporting, even pushing, for me to either keep the solitaire I have or change the setting one last final time, as long as I can be done with it all. Same with the wedding band. So, time will tell what I decide but I've learned to accept that this is a ME issue and not a diamond one. If anything, I'm "mind clean" that the .80 I have is an ideal stone and a gorgeous one. :))

I didn't vote because I'm not sure. I'd love to keep the same style of ring but upgrade the diamonds to a bigger size. I also toy with the idea of switching to a solitaire and a blingy band sometimes.

My husband's very sentimental of my rings, and I'm not sure he'd be on board with trading in my stones. If budget was no object, I'd just get both and then I'd pick and choose depending on my mood.

Good answer, LS! I should have just dittoed you. If we did come up with the cash to upgrade, I'm not sure I could actually pull the trigger and do it. The practical side of me thinks that that money would go a long way in paying down my student loans. Boring, I know, but practical.

Zoe- Not boring, that's practical! There's a good chance that in 2 years, if I want, I will have a nice jewelry fund to spend. But we have a child going into college in 4 years, we are finally going to finish our basement, we want to replace our kitchen floor with tile, new landscaping, etc. The list is long! So that's a BIG reason why I'm trying to come to terms with being happy with what I have, or resetting it, but not upgrading the diamond.

that's what Liz Taylor said after she married husband # 3.

I think I have my forever diamond (unless I win the lottery). However, I can't see my setting lasting FOREVER just because it is fairly delicate. So, I see a reset in my future.

I will echo the previous posters who wouldn't mind a RHR...or three.

My engagement ring is definitely not upgradable. The setting is unique and I wouldn't change a thing about it. The only way I'd contemplate a new one would be if I was contemplating a new husband as well! I'm quite young, so there's still time :naughty:

I think I did things a bit differently though - spent a lot on the setting, so that influences my desire to ever upgrade the ring. Perhaps if I'd had my diamond set in a more simple setting, my willingness to upgrade might be different.

I think my ering is my forever ring - I picked an eternity band because I love the look and that's just all I ever really wanted. I love it every time I look at it!

My pear is my forever diamond. I was going to sell it and as soon as I listed it I felt sick to my stomach for the three days I had it listed. My DH did not want me to sell it either. I guess the thought of selling it made me realize how much I do love it. I would like to change the setting though but am torn about what I would like to do. Some days I want a new solitaire setting where wedding bands can sit flush and I can mix it up with different delicate art deco style bands. On the flip side, I would love a nice five stone with traps and bullets. Either way it is not happening anytime soon since I may be making a career change that pays less.

I kept my orginally ering, so when I got my upgrade I was just kind of adding to the collection. I will always keep my original due to the fact that I am a little sentimental and DH is über sentimental, so in a way it will be a forever ring.

But my upgrade is the one I actually wear, so that is the real ring in question..... The diamond is definitely my forever diamond, I absolutely love it. I also love the setting, but I wouldn't rule out resetting it if my taste in settings change in the future. So I guess my answer is yes and no.

Yes, this is my forever ring. Contrary to my "history" on PS, which proves otherwise, I am usually not one to switch things around. If I love something, I love it forever. I would never have traded/upgraded my original ering from DH had it not been lost/stolen. However, I am totally on board for a collection of RHR if funding were unlimited!! :naughty:

I would be okay with my current ring as my forever ring. It is classic, timeless and a respectable size and quality. Not to say that I wouldn't turn down something grander if the opportunity came up!

My engagement ring is my forever ring in the sense that I can't see myself ever trading in for something else. But that doesn't mean I can't have rings for other fingers

Oh yes

Yes and no. Yes in that my husband is offended by the idea of upgrading, so for that reason, I doubt I will ever upgrade. No in that I would prefer a ring exactly the same as what I have with the exception of higher color, as I've become more color-sensitive over time. I'm very satisfied with the size, cut, clarity, and design of the ring, but no longer happy with the color of the diamond (I).

For the left hand, my 3 stone is "the one"! Right hand rings are still up for debate, though!
