Have I gone mad?

When I first joined PS it was to do some research on my 10yr ering upgrade. Thanks to PS I purchased my beautiful diamond from BGD and am waiting for a local jeweler to finish the custom setting. I waited A LONG time for my upgrade and honestly thought that once I get it, I'd get the jewelry bug/obsession out of me. I don't own a lot of jewelry aside from my ering, my MIL gave me some studs and I'll reset my old ering diamond into a solitaire pendant. But now that I'm just waiting for my ring I STILL can't stop looking for new projects. I've now determined that I'll get the BGD sapphire & diamond eternity ring hopefully for Christmas and find myself saving up for a Jeff White sapphire (2 -3ct) set in a Leon Mege setting.

Out of nowhere, I bid on a really cheap 4 ct sapphire on EBay that I don't really know what to do with. I'd like to set it on something kind of as a trial until I get the Jeff White/Leon one in a year or two. Any thoughts on what I should do with it? Also, have any of you fallen in the same boat where you've just gone jewelry crazy after your first purchase. How have you curbed this habit?

I apologize if I've posted this is in the wrong forum.. if I have moderator.. please feel free to move it accordingly.

Not enough information to correlate your jewelry interests with your madness. You may be mad. The jewelry neither proves, nor disproves this.

It's a disease that only gets worse, Agapitor, no cure & no vaccination available. You know it's really got you when you look at your jewelry you loved before PS & think, "Hmmm....wonder how much this will bring on eBay? Then I can get that beautiful (fill in the blank) from (fill in irresistable gem seller)." I can honestly say it takes me more & more effort to keep the train from rolling right off the rails!

thanks Laurie.. well at least I know at the early stages since this thought has not crossed my mind. Here's hoping it will take many years before I get there :)

Madness always starts slowly . . . LOL :loopy:

I've figured out how to "cure" it; run low on play money! Then you will start to scheme . . . and plot . . .

I'm afraid it's terminal.

The only cure is bankruptcy.

Welcome to blingaholics. It's a colourful place to be!

There is cure, and people may have noticed that I have been posting less lately, and it does not have to do with money, but do you really want to know it?

Yes please!! I think I'm on the brink but may still be salvageable? Is it a bad sign if I dreamed hubby bought me a Leon Mege for absolutely no reason. The dream was so vivid I think I may have been smiling while sleeping.
