These gals were purchased at Multicolour Gems. Both are a little over a carat with the Alexandrite having a slight change from green blue to light purple. The stones are kind of small for me, I am a big stone kind of girl. So I just take them out and dust them off every once in awhile. My photo skills are lacking, but I hope you like the stones.

Since there are not replies I must admit I am offended. I respond to most every post on this forum, but am not given the same courtesty. OK, obviously I am not what this board wants so I will leave. Before I go I will post pics of my entire collection just for the record.

Lisa

Lisa,
You are such a sweetheart, and please don''t leave. I''m sorry I didn''t respond. They''re very nice gems, and I can''t wait to see your entire collection. I''ve posted pictures and didn''t get a response as well at times, but I was not offended. I think we all get muddled in conversation so much that we forget to look at every single thread. I must admit that I did not see this thread originally.

Tourmaline lover I think you are super sweet as well. Really I do, and I thank you for all of your help and all of your education as well. I have noticed that most of my posts get very limited responses. I try to post threads to help keep the board alive, as most members do. Perhaps it is because my occupation is not perceived as upscale as others (as evidenced by my member name) or perhaps my personality is not pleasing. But all in all I have noticed that most of my posts get less response then others of the same content. So I can only believe that the board does not welcome me in general and I will not burden the board with my posts or threads after this one, and the collection pics. I do want to say that I have enjoyed this forum, I have enjoyed all your posts and responses, and I will miss this forum. I am also one of the very few who have NO responses to a collection piece posted over the last year. The forum has spoken by not speaking and I respect that. No hard feelings.

Regards.
Lisa

Lisa, these are both lovely. I am glad you let them out for some fresh air.

Lisa... This is the first time I have seen this thread. I'm so sorry, wasn't ignoring you.

I love those stones. I don't have none of those in my collection. Although you said you are a big stone kindda gal, will you be setting them?

Are you a RN? I am, working in recovery room.

Well, I have the utmost deepest respect for RN''s, that is one tough, stressful and important job.

I also had not seen this thread until now.
I really like the colour of these stones that you have just posted

I think most people who have been to a hospital would agree that nurses have one tough job!

lisa-better late than never-im looking at your stones & my only issue is that with alex-when taking pics-that you use good lighting to show the alex in the best way-either daylight or candlelight-being that you are showing the stones on the pc-each pic will show different to each person looking at your pic so next time try one light source or the other-let people see what you have as close as possible to the ideal-nothing is perfect & we all learn from experimenting-so enjoy-im posting a pic of my alex pendent under florescent light-this should bring out the green or blue/green within the stone-keep posting-people do watch...

I hadn't had a chance to comment until now either.

I think they're lovely and rather like the delicate color on the alex!

Those are both lovely! I know you''re a big stone girl, but that alex would look lovely in a halo!

I''m smitten with chrysos after buying one from Dan Stair. I haven''t set it yet, but I will someday!

Lisa - no snobbishness here, I too, have the utmost respect for RNs and am deeply grateful for the job they do.

I''m sorry I didn''t comment on this thread before - I can''t speak for others, but I know that for me personally, my schedule is very unpredictable so my ability to respond to individual threads is based very much on the time they are posted as many get buried before I get back to check what''s new.

I''m so sorry you''ve been feeling neglected.

I love those two stones - they have such lovely, bright colors, looking at them makes me think of peace and serenity.

I know you said you are a big-stone gal, but have you considered putting those lovelies in a pendant? I think they would look spectacular in a pendant, with the pear dangling from the cushion, both with white metal or diamond bezels

Lisa in all honesty I hadn''t even realised what RN stood for (I''m obviously very thick) as I thought they were just your initials! I''m not sure that people on here necessarily know what others do for a living. I know I certainly haven''t posted up what I do (lap dancer in case your interested ............ ok, well that''s possibly not true) so there''s no snobbishness intended

You shouldn''t feel offended that nobody has replied because this forum (on occasion) moves so fast that posts sink to the bottom of the page so quickly and fall off if it''s a particularly busy day on here and then get forgotton unless somebody resurrects them.

I''m another that hadn''t seen your thread until now.

Please continue to post - forum life is odd but you shouldn''t take any of it personally and not only that, some of us are on different time zones so completely miss things!

Keep posting please.

Sorry, I didn''t respond, I just now saw your thread... the in-laws were in town this weekend.
I love the colors! Very nice... did you have a project in mind w/ these stones? Pendant, RHR?

And I love RNs! Sorry if you were offended; here''s a HUGE CUDDLE BEAR HUG!

Lisa - I would be sad to see you leave! Honestly - this board moves so fast sometimes that posts sink quickly on occasion. I have a hard time keeping up the Eye Candy Thread for that precise reason! I hadn't put together your screen name with an occupation either - but it wouldn't matter either way. I have no clue what most people do for a living on this board, nor do I care.

I have the utmost respect for RNs - I couldn't do the job you do! Shoot - I answer phones all day.

Can't get much more un-prestigious or boring than that...

Please continue to share your love of colored stones with us!

Lisa - they are both very pretty! I love natural alexandrites and think that the blue-green color they show is beautiful. Sorry, I haven''t responded until now - I don''t have internet access during the weekends (and my weekend starts on Thursday because we''re currently working 4 day weeks due to the slow econom), so I hadn''t seen your thread until now. I would set the Alex with a halo - haloed pears are my new favorites!

OK I realize now that I have been a complete Arse about this and I thank you for all the replies. My posts don''t get a lot of feedback but obviously it is because of the way I present the material. I am so sorry for being such a jerk, crybaby about this. My humblest apologies to all of you.

Lisa

They''re very pretty Lisa, and I love the ring in your avitar as well. I''m a sucker for antique and deco settings.

Lisa, I am so glad you decided to stay. I for one, do not catch all of the posts that are posted on the colored stone forum, as the posts move very fast. Please forgive me, if in the past, I have not responded to you. I have not done it intentionally and would never hurt you.

Now, on to your stones. I love them, they are beautiful. I would love to see them haloed too.

Lisa - don''t beat yourself up. I''m glad you''ve decided to stick around

Lisa, I am so glad you posted those stones. Alexandrite is my birthstone and I have always wanted one but the ones I have seen that I have liked were out of my price range. Yours has such a gorgeous color. I have bought from Multicolour and was very happy with them. I should look again.

I only recently became familiar with chrysoberyl and I want one of those too! Thanks for showing those off. You have convinced me to start shopping!

Wow. I love the color on the Alex. It''s perfect!

...adding an alex to my gemstone list...

Those are a couple of sweet little stones.

I know what you mean about finding yourself with some extra stones that don''t really have a setting plan for them. For every stone I set, I have 2 or 3 laying around. One idea I''m thinking about, that could work with yours, is that setting stones in sort of a column is popular for a pendant now. In fact, I have a little fang-shaped opal that I recently got with blue/green flashes that would look stunning with your stones (and I''m not quite sure what else to do with it). If you wouldn''t wear the pendant, I bet someone you know would love it.

Thanks for sharing.
