Has anyone done a custom pattern in an engraved band?

I'm really craving an engraved band to stack with my wedding set, but none of the patterns I usually see (wheat, orange blossom, etc) really grab me. I think I'm looking for something a little more modern and...architectural? If that makes sense. Basically, a strong pattern but clean-lined as opposed to flowery. But I have no idea which vendor(s) would be best to approach about this, as I don't remember hearing about anyone getting a band with custom/unusual engraving like that. I've looked at a bunch of websites including all the "usual suspects" and haven't seen anything quite like I'm imagining. If I've missed any, please point them out, and also let me know if you think anyone in particular would be really good for this. Thanks!

VCanera has a very good engraver, I'm sure they could do a more linear and architectural design for you. Call in and ask?

Have you seen a crosshatched pattern, like this?

A few more too...(obviously these are men's bands but hopefully they can at least provide inspiration)

This is very different and edgy!

I would second VC because his engraving is gorgeous! I think when you have the ability to do the beautiful scrolls, you can certainly do other designs! How wide of a band do you want?

These are laser etched but I think they would look really neat as regular engraving.

Thanks! I was thinking of Victor Canera but I wasn't sure if they did other designs, all of their engraving I've seen seems to be the same basic design. But you're right, it doesn't hurt to ask. I want a fairly skinny band so it will mix well with my other rings -- maybe 2.5ish? So there isn't a ton of room to work with, but I think it could be done. I want it to have sort of an art deco feel, but I'll definitely need help putting my thoughts together to come up with an actual design. I always feel bad bothering vendors when I'm not sure if and when I'll actually be purchasing, I think I'll have to get over it, though...

My band from VC is sub-2mm and the engraving is very detailed and super clean. I love it. When discussing he mentioned they could do a variety of designs but recommended a curvy floral one for me so I didn't pursue anything else... it's one of my favourite pieces ::)

Honestly, I would just call in and tell them what you want - maybe send over a couple of inspirations if you have any - and leave it them to it. If you know anything about me then you know that's not the way I work at all, but I can't think of a single PSer (myself included) whose opinions on engraving design I would actually value - I strongly suspect there are significant differences between what looks good on paper and what looks good in 3D relief!

This one is a bit floral but from a distance the rectangular pattern looks very deco.

I found this one while looking for chevron/rectangle/deco styles. The engraving on the sides is probably more than you would want but the triangle leaves are neat.

This is a mens style that might look good scaled down.

This one might look good with the bezel band!

Thanks so much for looking around for me, CopperTop! I really really like the top one you posted here -- where is it from? I also like the squares-encasing-flowers from the post above. You did an awesome job finding these! I guess I'm not so opposed to flowers after all, it really is that deco look I'm after regardless of what the elements actually are :))

I would think Greenlake would be able to do a nice custom engraved pattern.

Octavia, did you ever find an engraved band?
