Has anybody ever had....

...A claw set solitaire that they have re-set into a bezel solitaire? No halo? And have you regretted it or loved it??

I have never been bezel lover 'on me' however my jeweler suggested I should consider it due to a teeny feather chipping out of the girdle of my pear diamond. I can understand totally what he's saying about protecting the stone, but I have been fully imagining myself resetting into a high Tiffany style cathedral with 5 claws. It is my dream setting & now I'm having doubts

Have you talked with your jeweler about the possibility of having the chip polished out? I don't know if it's even a candidate, but it's worth asking about.

Thanks ecf. He did mention it could be polished to take the sharp edge off, but then babbled on about bezels, so I sort of forgot about the polishing part!
