I am deciding between the Tiffany setting 6 prong ring and the Harry Winston Tryst ring. I have already tried on the Tiffany and loved it but am going to try on the HW Saturday and will update this post with photos. For now, here are photos of the 6 prong on me and the HW on my SA. I am sooo conflicted. Any help would be much appreciated!!

HW has better diamonds - I think they only do colorless D/E/F - more $ exclusive shop...

Tiffany will go up to I color ~ they seem more of a mainstream "luxury" brand with items at all price points...stores in too many malls...

I like the six prong of the Tiffany as the diamond looks rounder in six vs four double prongs, but that’s just my personal preference! It’s just so classy and timeless, you can have a lot of fun dressing her up with various bands too.

You get to choose the stats of your centre diamond at Tiffany so it doesn’t matter whether the centre stone is from Tiffany or HW in my opinion.

While personally I love the cachet of an HW ring, I don’t like this specific setting - I dislike 4 prongs on a round stone and I don’t like that the band pave stones stop just a couple stones down on either side.

The Tiffany 6 prong is a classic.

Are you only planning on choosing between these two settings or are you open to other settings at both HW/Tiffany? If the latter, when you go into HW maybe browse their other solitaire designs and see if something pops out.

If strictly between these two - I would pick the Tiffany.

I think a setting should compliment the stone when possible. A six, eight, twelve prong setting will present a round stone beautifully. A double four prong may make a round stone look more square.

I am team 6 prong.

Now, that being said, when I was looking for my ring, this was a very close runner up and lives vicariously in my head as one of my favorites..

The Tiffany is a classic, it's timeless perfection and will never feel out of style. I'm nitpicking on the HW setting, but I don't like the side diamonds being uniform in size and the same width as the band, and ending abruptly like that - it looks awkward to me. And I also much prefer a 6-prong on a round.

Can't wait to see which one you pick!

The Tiffany setting is a true classic and always quite beautiful. It would be my choice between the two. However, as with any ring, the diamond quality and cut is the most important aspect. The diamond comparison would be larger than the setting comparison to me as well. Good luck and let us know what you decide!!

I agree with this.

Also consider the wb you might choose. The Tiffany is so conducive to mixing and matching with other Tiffany bands. The HW might be more limiting as it has those shoulders.

I hate when the band doesnt have at least a bit of a gap with the engagement ring, so thats a bonus with the HW for me

Yeah I see that. I think the Tiffany sits totally flush.

Out of those 2 companies I would choose HW. Honestly I like Tacori better than both though.
