Yes, I guess I've come to realize that as long as it doesn’t give a super fiery look, I am not too particular about the way it shines. I have been trying on different rings for months and the 4 c’s, craftsmanship of the ring, shape and design are all much more important to me

I think it sounds like you know what you want, and you've done your due diligence with trying things on. I think the elongated cut looks great! I do agree with others suggesting that you ask HW to let you pick between 3 elongated radiant stones, since each will be unique with its own "flavor"

Yes, I have not tried this one on unfortunately but I trust my SA. Mine will not be exact, but she said proportions of the stone are basically identical. This one is the most elongated they have at the moment

As nice as the photo representation is on the SA’s finger, there is no substitute for seeing it on your own. I hope you still love it as much irl on your hand as in the photos.

Since I tried on both radiant and square cushion, each time hoping it would look more like the elongated cushion, I think I'll love it

Does HW have an upgrade policy? I know you are excited by this particular ring, but I have a feeling that in a few years, Diamond Shrinkage Syndrome is going to set in, and it may begin to seem small, and if/when that happens, an upgrade policy will be very helpful.

They do not but I don’t mind because firstly, I find anything over 1 carat too big on me for everyday and secondly, I don’t personally believe in upgrading the diamond on an engagement ring. For an anniversary gift, I would definitely be open to a colored diamond for fun though! Also, that is not me trying on the ring, my fingers are a few sizes smaller
