Its St. Nicholaus Tag today! So for those with german background,

Einen 'Frohen Nikolaustag'! :wavey:

And it's Saint Nicolaos day in Greece too, so for those with greek backround and for all the greeks around the world with the name Nicolas or Nicoletta, "Hronia Polla"!!! (i hope i didn't thread jack here, lol!).

Happy St. Nicholas day! This used to be my favorite day of the Christmas season when I was in elementary school. One of the priests would dress up as St. Nicholas and visit all the classrooms and ask us trivia questions about his outfit and his history. And we had to spend a couple of hours walking around with only one shoe as our other one was in the hallway being filled with candy! Man, now I have this huge craving for a candy cane.

Lol, no you didn't! I'm glad you posted otherwise I wouldn't have known that greeks celebrate this day too! :read: (thought it was just a german thingy). Probably, I have to rephrase it!

Happy Nicholaus Day to all who celebrate this today!

Naty, is it also a tradition in Greece that you give small presents to children as a prechristmas joy? It is in germany. So as an adult, I didn't expect to be given any! But look what DH gave me this morning!
