Hello i have been looking on here for awhile figured i would join and get some opinions. My girlfriend love the halo setting with a split shank. I have a great deal on the ring but now im looking for a diamond. My budget for the diamond is 1500ish im a student so income is not to high. My question is that im worried a .5 would look to small for the ring. Any opinions of pictures would be great.

I don''t think a .50ct stone will look too small in a halo as long as the halo is the right size for the stone. Do you already have the halo setting?

no i do not have the setting yet i have it ordered

since you ordered the setting first, you will need to purchase the stone that fits the setting properly. I wouldn't order the stone just yet until you can be sure it will fit the setting. You don't want the stone to be too big or too small.

BTW not sure if you are interested but Whiteflash has beautiful ACA stones within your budget at the .54-.56ct sz

Here's a 0.42 ct cushion in a split shank halo. I don't think a 0.50 wd look small at all, but finger width wd be a factor (my fiancee wears a 5.25).

Hi abdouglas,

I just ordered a ER for my girlfriend with a very similar issue. I don''t have a huge budget but knew she wanted a ring bezzeled and with a halo. I am getting something done from Whiteflash. I am supposed to get the CADs tomorrow so I''ll post them on here for peoples opinions. The centerstone that I went with was .56. My girlfriend wanted something near colorless so that was what I got.

I''m so nervous for the images!!!
