Ok, I am down to the wire, cut is tonight and I have NO idea what to do. My hair is longer now than it has been...well, ever. Down to the middle of my back. :errrr:

So, with that being said. I am ready for a change, I don't want to chop it ALL off but I am open to ideas.... Fire away, I am tired of falling back on the same type of long layers and long bangs swept to the side type style. I have a somewhat roundish kind of face so I am open....my natural color is a dark chocolate brown but I am open to changing that, too.

My two ideas!!!

As long as you trust your stylist, ask him or her! When I went for my last cut, I basically said: not too short, nothing that needs more than 5 minutes in the morning, amp up the volume a little, the rest is up to you. And I LOVE my cut. I wouldn't want to do that just anywhere, but I figured that she knows what my hair is like and what will/won't work with my face shape and hair texture, so who better to make the decision? Provided it's not a super drastic style, if you don't like it, you can either fix it right away or it will grow out pretty quickly.

I do trust her, a lot. She is great but it seems that she trends towards what I have had for the last year or so or REALLY short. So? I wanted to take something into her and say 'what do you think' and 'please do this'.

DF- I like those but I feel like they are a lot like what I have now, just blonde. ;) LOL. I was thinking maybe this but with low lights of a lighter brown and my dark natural brown color a just a bit longer?

I was you a couple weeks ago! Long, dark brown hair, that went up in a pontail everyday because I too uninspired (read: lazy) to do anything with it. I printed a couple pictures that I liked but gave my stylist a lot of artistic input. Like someone else already said, your stylist probably knows what will work best with your type of hair and shape of face. Plus, I need someone to give me a harsh dose of reality. Lots of times what I want simply won't look good on my face :)

Anyway, I went with a long bob. That's probably not exciting for most, but it was a much needed change from my usual drab do.

Good luck and come back with pictures!

i like the style you posted. its adaptable. could be done a tad longer depending on your face and/or needs.

do remember that long hair has the advantage of being "put up" and out of one's face.

yeah, I am thinking about it. Guy friends have thrown out protest about me totally going short. One said that nothing shorter than shoulder length so I think that is a good rule of thumb. I am thinking that I will ask for a shorter type of bang and longer layers. I am also thinking of just going a few shades darker on the color...so we will see tonight what I totally end up with. :)

I had a friend do this, with some black underlights and it was HAWT.

You could add red or light brown highlights!

Not quite this light, but this style highlights?

NO! Not highlights like that. Just lighter brown undertones.

That's why I said not so light haha! That's too extreme for sure color wise.

This looks exactly like the cut I got! Craziness. It won me lots of compliments and I think it's a style that flatters most faces.

Ok, everyone! I did it- it is a variation of Reese Witherspoon's new one. My bangs are being swept to the side more because I am not used to across the forehead, yet, but here is just finishing yesterday. : )

I think it looks great! I love the length and the layers... I like that you didn't go crazy with highlights and stuck to that gorgeous chocolate brown. You look awesome! :appl: :appl:

Awh, you are so pretty. Love the haircut too, it suits you.

looks great! i want to go bangs too, not just the long side sweepy ones but i'm so scared :P did you bring in a photo or did you and the stylist come up w/this cut?

Gorgeous! and I'm going to put a new curling iron on my Christmas list. I like your curls!

Ohhhh I LOVE it!!!!

sphenequeen - Thank you!!! :) I decided to keep the color, the highlights were just something I decided would be TOO much for the up-keep aspect. I am happy with the length, although she cut off almost 5 inches!   She was like 'I have been cutting your hair since you were 13 and I have NEVER seen it this long!!!

Steal- 8) Thank you, so much. I like the way it falls, I feel good about it!

lulu66 - These are actual bang bangs, I just swept them to the side the minute she was done. They are LONGER, meaning they come past my eyebrows but are not completely even in the sense that some parts are a big longer and some are shorter- she said it is the 'style' right now but I hear you on taking the plunge. Just make sure that you can sweep to the side, if you don't like the short bangs. I bet you you would look cute! :) I was actually reading a magazine waiting and saw Reese Witherspoon in a picture and pointed and she agreed, so there you go! :)

Lisa- It is the 2" curling iron and only the ends in a ringlet fashion, not to the root, it is just simple, and make sure that you have that Sebastian Zero hair spray, it helps me keep mine in control because I have such crazy curly hair naturally.

DF- Thanks girly!! Thanks for all your help yesterday!!

My dad wanted to see my new 'do' so since he is out of the country so I texted a picture to him, he texted back 'there is my little Italian beauty'. He is so sweet. :) Thanks for all the compliments, I am REALLY happy with how it turned out!!

LOVE the hair! So pretty - wish I had gorgeous hair like that.
My hair is too thin and just doesn't stay styled . :(
