On the day of my wedding, I plan on having both my hair and makeup done professionaly, but not at the same place. Which one should I schedule first for that day? My initial idea was that it might be better to get makeup done second, so that any hair products won''t mess it up. Thoughts?

most of the people I talked to said to get hair done first and then make up. Make sure you were a button up shirt so you don''t have to maneuver it past your hair. Your make up has a shorter "shelf life"

Your instincts were correct. Hair should be done first, because:

1) Makeup should be as fresh as possible (though this shouldn't be as much of an issue with good products).

2) Not only hair products, but just having hands moving near - and inevitably against - your face will risk rubbing off, smudging, or otherwise messing up your makeup.

3) Makeup is the most important beauty alteration, and it's not possible for the makeup artist to get the 'whole picture' unless the hair is done first, as the makeup will be at least in part based on or tweaked to suit the hair.
