this morning i received a wrong # text and it said... hope you enjoyed last night as much as i did...XO XO.. :o

i was gonna reply... :naughty: but i didn't know it was a he or a she who wrote that text...

Lol not me, but my husband got a wrong number text from some guy arranging a drug buy/pick-up. As you can imagine, he went silent once my DH told him it was a wrong number.

All. The. Time.

I've had my phone number for over a year already, but I still occasionally get phone calls and texts for the previous owner, who is very obviously either very uneducated, or is 16. All the messages I receive are very juvenile. Even when I tell them they've reached the wrong number or person, their responses are juvenile. I have gotten YELLED AT for not giving my phone over to the intended called person. I've received voicemails for this person!

My old coworker had Tila Nguyen's old cellphone number. She got invited to CRAZY things and events, and got voicemails for events.

The VM thing trips me out. How do you not HEAR the greeting that states the new owner of the phone numbers?!

All the time. My phone number is one number off from a hospital. I get all KINDS of interesting calls. DH gets some hilarious ones, the latest is some idiot who clearly has mistyped his mothers new cell number and got into an argument with DH, who works for a phone company, about how his mom was just issued this number by a different phone company. DH said "I can assure you that is 100% patently false. I work for said company and that is simply impossible, each company owns different prefixes. Check what you typed into your phone or the number you guys wrote down. If you contact me again, Ill shut your service off entirely and let you deal with the ETF fees that come with it." About a half hour later, he gets a call from the guy apologizing.

Not me cuz I've had my phone number for about 12 years. But my friend got a new number like 1 or 2 years ago and she keeps getting these phone calls for Melissa. This Melissa owes A LOT of money to A LOT of people! Even tho my friend says she's not Melissa, the collectors don't believe her. One was even rude of enough to say Ok... Yea... Sure Melissa, we WILL be calling you again, MELISSA.

better than a text: a picture of a nude woman's big boobs......hubby demanded that i show it to him!
it was a woman that used to housesit our cats for us....great housesitter, though. very reliable....and obviously randy as shell. :naughty:

No wrong text/call, but lately a lot of cold calls which start with the prefix of "I'm not trying to sell you anything...."

Maybe you should start a trend :)

Yes, none are that funny though. The ones I receive are for long-time friends in the area wanting to meet up.

I never did because I do not receive texts on my phone but my dh just received a wrong # text last week LOL.
It read "if I bring home wine do I get sexual favors tonight" LOLOLOLOL....my dh was very very disturbed by this as it was sent by our neighbor meant for his wife. However, he mistakenly sent it to my dh because he had just texted him about something else.

Now I thought it was pretty funny but my dh not so much. Anyway, when our neighbor realized what he had done he sent another text asking "why don't you reply" Hahaha. Our neighbor has a sense of humor that's for sure. My dh erased both texts immediately. Our neighbor's wife emailed me (I don't get texts) a short bit later apologizing and explaining that the second text was when her husband realized he mistakenly sent the first text to my dh.

I think it's pretty funny. :D

Yes, I have gotten wrong text's, I have had my phone number for around 15 years, but I still get them, the first one was about 5 years ago and I sent it back stating wrong #, the 2nd one started about a year or so ago and it apparently was a teenager I guess from the context of the texts, I told them wrong number but they were not nice about it and I continued to get texts, finally I got nasty back and I havent had a text since.

Only when my friends give out my number to weirdos...so about once a week. They think it's hilarious

I get them on occasion. I usually text back and say wrong number. I have also gotten some interesting wrong emails, and I usually email back and say it is the wrong email, especially if it seems like it would be a big deal if the intended person didn't get the message. Voicemails, I usually ignore unless they keep calling me, if that happens, ill text and say you are sending messages to the wrong person.

My previous number was like watching every other episode of a soap opera. I am guessing that a lady had the same number in a different area code and, occasionally, her boyfriend/husband/baby daddy/whatever would be travelling to my city and forget to include an area code, accidentally text about once or twice a month. Over a year, the messages went from flirty to lovey-dovey to angry to "you aren't fit to raise my child and you will pay" with a healthy sprinkling of swear words and accusations. Then, after a couple of weeks, it went back to lovey-dovey. I guess they made up.

Once, he sent a particularly nasty text demanding that she answer him. It was the only one I actually answered (I ignored the rest), politely telling him that she might not have received the text since it was my phone. His answer was quite blue and increased my vocabulary somewhat.

I am pretty sure I only got a few of the texts he sent her, so I assume most of them went to the right person. It was just so unpredictable that it became almost a game to me, guessing what was happening from the bits I got to read. If I had known her right number, I would have told her to get rid of the loser. Eventually, it stopped so I can only guess at the end. I like to think that she did, indeed, kick him out and he never texted her again.

I once got an email with a lot of details about a business venture, including how they were going to cheat on taxes. I answered the email to let the sender know that it had gone to the wrong person. I also forwarded it to our version of the IRS and I don't regret it one bit.

Only got one wrong text a few months ago, but had been getting phone calls from an elderly woman trying to reach her daughter in Northern Jersey right after Sandy hit. She couldn't seem to punch the correct numbers into the phone so after her 10th call to meI helped her program the number into her phone. Such a sweet woman who said I was nicer to her than her own daughter.

so did you asked her......did your husband bring home some wine that evening?... :naughty:

I got a wrong number text once, which procedded to turn into a 20 minute conversation. It was a guy who thought he knew me (uh, nope! Sure don't) and tried his damnedest to get me to send him a picture of myself. I didn't, but he kept asking and trying to flirt. Really? Do you just text random numbers and hope it's a decent looking girl? Stop.

Just last week, a client texted me, "See you this afternoon XOXOXO".

It was meant for her husband. I told her I was very flattered, but that I did figure it was for her hubby.

I am thankful it was just XOXOXO, I'm thinking it could have been MUCH worse!!

No way lol...you know how it is disturbing to imagine some people having sex? Well this is the couple that fits that bill for me for sure! It's something I really don't want to visualize in any way.
But glad it seems they have a strong marriage- that makes me happy for them!!! :appl:
(I just don't want to be privy to the intimate details if you KWIM!)

Yes. This just happened to me. Some lady was looking for a guy and texted and called several times. I love when they ask if I just got my number. Ummm...10 years ago...

I just sent one. I was forwarding a text i received from my soon to be X BIL to my sister. She replied and i was responding, but my response to my sister went to the soon to be X. He sent me a text saying that she wants to file tuesday. My sister is filing the papers tuesday. Im miserable because the text I thought I was sending to her said that I wouldn't respond to him, and that I hoped the whole thing goes smooth fast and easy as possible. Then I asked if soon to be X even realizes that it was the 15 year old son who discovered the affair and saw all the sex-ting that was on dad's phone, and has known about it for nearly 2 years?
I immediately called my sister to let her know and she assured me that it wouldnt affect anything, but, the answer to the question was no, he didn't know it was the kid who discovered everything and that that is why the kid hates him. (did I mention the affair was with the kid's 8th grade teacher?)

Iphones and arthritic thumbs are a bad pairing.

ok so there is more.
So after I realized, I sent him another text weakly covering for my mistake. it said, "...by which I mean for both of you, or all three really. Are you fighting her on the divorce or are you trying to make it as bumpless for your son as can be?"
His response, an hour later was only, "belly up".
Now what does that mean? Is he saying he is like a dead fish in the water and not fighting anything, or is he saying that he is dead like a fish in the water and going off to kill himself, or is he saying belly up to the bar man, it is time for some serious drinking? Or something else?

I have not received wrong number texts before but these stories are interesting!

Madelise my vm doesn't say my name just the phone number so I can see why ppl might leave a msg for the wrong person (I've had that happen before)

Vapid I'm so sorry to hear about your soster's situation...that sounds so awful especially for your nephew. Hopefully it gets resolved neatly and soon.

Lol! I wish You had responded. Odds are it was a girl with the XOXO part.

I have gotten a wrong number text. Then he called. And started hitting on me. Awkward.

Oops! Accidentally got submitted before I was done!

Its not a text but SIL keeps getting a collect call from some prison. Shes been getting at least 2 or 3 phone calls a day. Today it was 7! She doesn't know anyone in prison! DB finally got the phone and the caller asked for a girl named Patricia. SIL's name is NOT Patricia. Then he hastily gave them a phone number and told them to find Patricia and have her send money... And then the caller hung up. Weird....

Yup, a few times and on my work phone too, where at least 1 was a long distance text. Nothing too racy so all's good. This is why it is a good idea to keep all convos PG rated because who knows if you accidentally text someone else by accident, lose your phone or goodness knows what else.
