Hi, new to the forums, thought i could reach out for some help deciding on a diamond in the 4k range.
Looking for:
G-H color
SI1 clarity

it looks like i can afford a H&A around 0.8 carats
Do you think money would be better spent on getting something a little bigger that still has a decent cut?

What do you think of these...?

I am worried about the feathers in this one,

this one is a little larger on the diameter, but the cut is not as good

Any suggestions?

Also, i was considering this setting, not sure about the thickness though. i figure a thinner ring will make the diamond seem larger; however, my soon-to-be fiancee's fingers are more short and thick rather than long and thin (about a size 8), so maybe a thicker ring would compliment her finger more?

any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

You can get a non-hearts and arrows stone that is still ideal/excellent cut, but I do not like that second stone you linked because the table is so large. It just makes the crown part small and that is a pretty part of the diamond. I'd stick with 54-58%, personally. I'll look and see if I see any good ones.

2.5mm for the shank of the ring is still very thin and should be beautiful with that size diamond!

Okay, after looking, I don't really see better choices for a larger excellent cut stone. I like the True Hearts stone you picked assuming it is eyeclean from the top AND sides. You need to be sure to ask them about the side view since your sides will be pretty visible. I prefer VS2 and that second diamond does have a nice diameter. I am just not sure it would be for me, but if you think she would be happier with a slightly larger stone, then you could consider it.
