I have a contract question, too. I got my contract from the venue and I was wondering if there is anything crazy I should look for? It looks pretty reasonable, outlines what we are liable for and when we can get refunds when we can''t, etc.

Short of having you scan it and upload it as a very large pic, I don''t know how to advise you. Your contract could be anything like the dinky one (that doesn''t protect them very well at all) that my venue has, or it could be a 10 page monster like a few of them I''ve seen.

I would make sure there is a full refund of all monies paid in case of default on the part of the venue. And an allowance for you to re-book without losing your deposit if something cases you to default. At the very least.
