welcome!

yay! How was Vegas? Sorry if you''ve posted somewhere else I have been a lurker lately and a crappy one at that! Did you end up seeing the cirque show?

It was fabulous! Minus the snow at least. Although if I''m honest, I didn''t really mind the snow that much. Saw Mystere (a tiny young woman was in the baby outfit), ate a lot, saw a topless show (both of the tickets were cheaper than one for David Copperfield!), bought some shoes, got engaged (don''t know if you knew that already), you know, did the Vegas thing. Oh, and looked at wedding venues. All in all, a decent (ok, it was great) trip.

Lol! I''ve been a crappy lurker lately too! My computer was broken FOREVER!

Woo-hoooo! Welcome back! :)

Hi Freke!

So you''re a lurker no more! Seriously, I can''t believe you just said "I don''t mind snow" I shudder at the very words. I L-O-A-T-H-E-D it. I think it''s because Quebec has it in aboundance though, so I am well and truly sick of it. Hmmm...I don''t know if I missed a Freke wedding planning thread, but we need details. Inquiring minds want to to know

. I''ll search for your thread...

Lol. Not really a wedding planning thread yet. I still don't know what I'm doing, and my dad keeps going back and forth on what he wants. I did find a reception site I might have to jump on if he decides he wants a reception or not.

So far I'm at the point where I've done these things:
-bought wedding earrings (see thread in BWW)
-bought wedding shoes (there was a thread a while back-early Dec?-in LIW)
-emailed Vegas wedding planner at Mandalay Bay, just need to send in the deposit
-set up one wedding registry and one wedding website
-tried setting up another wedding registry and website, but keep running into technical difficulties
-read 2 wedding books, 2 bridal mags, and bought one planner
-decided on a date for the Vegas wedding(January 9, 2010) and possibly a date for the big reception back home if my dad decides he wants to do that (January 16, 2010)
-decided to keep wedding ceremony and dinner to less than 30 people
-decided to let my dad invite whoever he wants for the hometown reception (the two different things leads to the need for two websites-one for people invited to both, and one for people only invited to the reception-PITA let me tell you!)

I think that about sums it up. I found a pretty dress that I like, but I need to work out for a while before I do the dress shopping thing. Maybe I'll bug Gypsy and see if she still has that Rivini floating around...

How are you doing ally? I feel like I've been stuck in a hole lately. (And we hardly get any snow down here in New Mexico! We got 12 inches a couple of years ago, and the city shut down for 3 days! No Starbucks, Walmart, or McDonalds! It was so nice!)

Lets see. The first time we went we saw "Bite", and then our friend that lives there got us free tickets to "Jubilee" (Talk about a lot of bling! Holy cow!) and then this time we saw "X Burlesque". It was like a somewhat expensive strip club production. But it was interesting. "Bite" was probably the most varied. They had topless ballerinas and topless people hanging from those fabric things on the ceiling. And it was based around a vampire story. Very...not serious. But there were a lot of creepy old guys at "X Burlesque" that were by themselves. It was an interesting experience. Although I really liked the comedienne who had a stand up routine in the middle of the show.

Oh and we saw Zumanity--which was awesome. And even though there is a lot of skin in that show, I''m not sure it qualifies as being topless...

I dunno. FI has never been to a strip club, but we always manage to go to the silly topless shows in Vegas. I don''t get it.

Thanks guys! I''m thrilled to be back on a full time basis! I missed everyone! And lurking randomly SUCKS! Not to mention trying to borrow FI''s computers!

Oh yeah I saw the posters for X Burlesque everywhere while we were there. Topless shows, a **** star filled wedding party and he hasn''t even been to a strip club! I''m confused!

It''s so funny how Vegas gets away with all the nudity! It''s amazing how many families are walking around on the strip with those guys pushing the prostitute cards! I saw a guy pushing a stroller taking them!

Yayyyy wb Freke!

I am dying to see a show in Vegas. I have only been once, and it was mostly a photography trip so I didn''t get to see an Cirque, and wanted to SO BAD.
