Just got engaged!!

I have my ring but as of right now I have no idea as to the carat size. I was wondering if some of you experts could guess the size for me.

I wear a size 4.75 if this helps!

Thanks for all the guesses... wouldn''t it be fun to see who wins!

Hmmmmm.....1.2?

i love this game!

hmmm... since you have a small finger... i''d say it''s a 1.7 carat? whatever the size, it looks absolutely fabulous on your hand! many congrats on your engagement. a gorgeous ring!

I''d guess just over 1 ct? It looks similar to mine (and I wear a 4.5)

Congrats! It looks lovely on you!

im gonna guess 1.3-1.4...

i think its a great size and you get awesome finger coverage too

1.15 maybe?

thank you everyone. I just love it. My fiance actually is letting me pick the setting which I just got today! I already posted it in LIW but I''ll just post it here for you guys also..

It''s a ritani band that we got a great deal on.

I know it would just look great with my (whatever size) center stone.

Since we brought the setting from the store as is and did not order a new one... I still have no idea what my center stone is. We just kinda eyeball it and it was the exact same size as the CZ in the ritani setting. Once we get that set... I will post pics up!!

1.4? It''s a great size on your finger! Beautiful!

Congratulations!!!

Your stone is fabulous and I love the Ritani setting you chose!

Now in terms of the size...I say 1.2ct? It looks great on you!

I''m going to say 1.35 ct.....Looks like a beauty!

It depends on the depth of the diamond too. I am wearing a Size 3 but my 1ct face up like a 1.3ct. So I am going to guess yours to be a 1.3-1.5ct range.

I''m going to be the odd duck and say just a hair under a carat. You''ve got a small finger size, so even a .93 is going to look much bigger.

If it''s the same as a CZ, I am going to guess 1ct, just because it seems more likely that the CZ is a round size (1 or 1.5 vs 1.2, etc), and also because you have similar coverage that I have, with a 1.3 on a 7.25.

Can you measure it, across, in millimeters? That would help.

Once you have it reset, you should insure it immediately (it sounds like you haven''t insured it yet). You''ll need all of the diamond''s stats to insure it. Your fiance'' will have to fess up with all the information and the certificate if there is one. Then you''ll know for sure.

I would say definitely over a carat. 1.5? I have a 1.53 on a size 4.5, and it looks about the same as mine. It''s beautiful!

This is fun! I''m going with 1.5 - it looks beautiful on your hand!

Congrats on the engagement!! I''d guess 1.3.

Congratulations! It looks very pretty! I''m going to guess 1.05

My guess is 1.25

how fun!! My fiance and I were talking this morning about the diamond and the setting. I, of course, threw hints here and there to get the stats... and I did!! He showed me the GIA report.

It''s a 1.26! F SI2 (which i thought was shocking considering the fact that I haven''t found anything to the naked eye as yet)

We are getting it set in the ritani setting today... I''m a little worried as we have to size the ring from a 7 to a 4 1/2... do you think that would be a problem? I''m hoping since this ritani does not have any side diamonds that it shouldn''t be too difficult. ekk

GEMGIRL: I also asked him about insurance... and he already got it. Good fiance. =) But I''m guessing since we got a different setting we might have to change it? I''m not sure how that works...

Thanks to everyone who guessed and the compliments! I just can''t stop looking at it! My first diamond ring at that.

SAM82: You hit it basically on the money!

One last picture until the redo of the setting.

If it was my ring, I would have my jeweler order the correct size from Ritani. I hope some of our experts will offer their opinions on this matter.

I agree with Rising Sun. They should be able to get something in your size. Sizing the ring down that much seems a bit much to me. And yes, you will have to have to change the insurance after it is set to reflect the price of the setting. An appraisal should be done with the finished product, which will reflect the value of the entire ring.

Best of luck. The ring looks great on you already. I''m sure the finished product will be beautiful. I really like the setting you chose. I can''t wait to see pictures.

Congratulations! Beautiful diamond - looks like a very nice size on your petite finger. The setting you have chosen is lovely and elegant as well. Did you ask Pearlman''s if they think it would be a problem to size the ring down that much? Since there are no sidestones it seems like it should be ok, but I am not an expert. I assume you won''t be able to get the same great deal on the setting if you order a new one so it would be worth inquiring about it. Good luck and please post photos of the new setting.

Congrats!! It looks beautiful on you! Hope the setting and sizing go great.

Gorgeous ring, but sizing it down two and a half sizes will make the shank off-round, and could compromise its integrity (even though there aren''t any side stones). Definitely order the right size - it might take a little longer, but many people have issues down the road due to improper sizing.

Hmmm i''m guessing between 1.5-1.7 ct.
