My mom recently gave me my grandmother’s wedding rings. The diamond is small but so shiny. The inside of the band is engraved with their initials and wedding date (1932). I know they were very poor when they got married so I’m guessing this ring was not to pricey at the time.

I’m curious as to what “Adorable” means. It is not part of the engraving. (As seen in 1st picture)

Unrelated to this ring - Based on how pretty I think this ring is, I’d love direction on where to find vintage styled settings for future stones I plan on setting. I’m loving the character in vintage/vintage styled rings!

Thanks for looking! =)

It looks like "adorable" was stamped in by the manufacturer. It is probably either the company name or what they called that particular style. Unfortunately, it would be very difficult to google a name like "adorable" and get useable results.

You're lucky to have such a nice heirloom, and with such special and beautiful engraving!

Thank you!

From what my mom said, she didn’t wear it too often (busy working hard with her hands), so it’s in great condition.

Is it typical for settings like this to be hollow underneath?

Your rings is really adorable!!

If you are looking for vintage looking settings, have a look at Ivy and Rose on Etsy, or they have also an own website.

Ooooo..... Ivy and Rose has some beautiful settings! In a search, I only came up with 2 threads discussing this company. Are there many pics of I&R rings here that I’ve missed?

Thanks!

They have also an eBay shop called my Diamond Zone. Maybe try to search for this on PS, you may find more results. I'm sure, a few people have bought from them.

Just want to say how pretty this set is!
Although smallish by ps standards, I think it’s really nice for a depression era set. Most people didn’t have money then.
Do you plan to wear it?

Thanks AnnaH! You are right - my grandparents were quite poor. It’s very sparkly though and certainly fun to look at/admire.

Yes! I plan on wearing it. It’s slightly too big but I don’t want to resize it (in order not to weaken it - at least for now) so I got some of that silicone coil stuff. I’m not sure what I think of that yet.
