Hi All,
Have done a search but haven't quite found the answers i've been after.
I have heard the HRD graded stones are more common in Europe and Asia and they have cropped up in my search for a stone here in Australia. I am in the process of narrowing down a few and one is an HRD graded stone.
I wanted to know how these grading labs compare to each other? From what I have read HRD are softer but is this the case 9 out of 10 times? In all countries? Is it safe to say that a G colour HRD is equivalent to J colour GIA? Are HRD ever correct in their grading? Should one avoid purchasing stones they have not been graded by GIA & AGS?
What are your thoughts on HRD? They are apparently very well regarded in Europe but it seems most people here aren't too fond of them.
Please educate a newbie
Thanks!
