So, I put a post in earlier of how my original oval center stone was chipped and I had it replaced through insurance. I was unhappy with the replacement diamond so they offered me more diamonds and I chose what I thought was a perfect diamond. However, I went to see it on Saturday and was extremely upset with how it looked. It had a huge bowtie and was black from every angle. I put a message into the diamond specialist to let her know I was very unhappy with the 2nd replacement. I heard from insurance today, they want to salvage my setting (which is actually soldered to 2 wedding bands), pay the jeweler and then pay me out. I let the claim rep know I was not willing to part with my setting!! I should hear back tomorrow from the lady working on my claim what is going to happen. I have no clue what they are going to give and where to go to buy an oval diamond. I did look online and found some, but am worried about buying online, seeing I have been unhappy thus far. What are your thoughts on everything? Any help with oval diamonds! I should hopefully find out soon how much money I will get to get a new stone. I have been so unhappy with the jeweler I have been working with and how long all of this has been taking! I just want to get the new stone and be done with this! I am looking for an oval between a .80 and up, I color and up, SI1 and up, and minimal bowtie, doesn't matter on flouresense. I could use all the help I could get!

Check out James Allen. I'm on my kindle right now so cant really look but as soon as I
can get on my PC I'll have a look.

Wow, that may turn out to your advantage! Are you certain you don't want to replace your setting? It is one of those rare opportunities to have them offer to pay for it. Just be sure the amount they offer you for the diamond is enough.

I'd probably only try to get an oval through Good Old Gold because they will sort through what is available and call in a few for you to select from and show you videos of the stones in different lighting, etc. Plus I trust Jonathan to advise me on the best stones and I don't feel that way about random sales people from some other companies.

HI:

GOG would be a good vendor to ask....didn't he source Kaleigh's gorgeous oval diamond?

To the OP--did you not want to halo your setting in an earlier thread.....this could be your chance for a halo.....

cheers--Sharon
