Well I got the guy and now the diamond ( G SI1 Round 1.5 ct, GIA cert excellent Polish and Symmetry with hearts and arrows under the little hearts and arrows viewer but not AGS certed although the dealer was willing to send it if we wanted (for more $ of course-I could see the arrows w/my naked eye, it was sparkling like crazy, so GIA was enough for me).
Thanks Pricescope for helping educate us! Without you I might have spent alot more on alot less. For what its worth we looked at a bunch of ideally proportioned stones with and without the hearts and arrows, in colors ranging from E-J and clarities of VVS to SI. I could tell a hint of color on the I and J but nothing on others. I ended up narrowing down to a stone with less perfect symmetry .25 ct larger or this one but went with the smaller stone as I just liked its crispness.
So now we are looking for a setting.
I had liked the ritani endless love with the diamonds around the band and basket (not the halo setting). But my fiance is scared about workmanship. To me it looks like the micropave is lowered into a channel so while not channel set per se, it is somewhat protected.
Anyway, I''m looking for setting options to make the diamond POP
I''d like a thin band if possible. Today I saw a setting with channel set .3ct diamonds that was lovely by itself but the band with the wedding band was just too thick (forget ever having an eternity band.) I''m also concerned that bead set or prong set or pave will be uncomfortable.
Suggestions anyone?
