I'm sorry if this is a moronic question, and I freely admit to being a special kind of stupid when it comes to technology, but I just noticed yesterday (after having the phone for almost three months... ) that I can't figure out where the addresses went...? Shouldn't they just be on the contact when you pull it up, or do I need to go to some special screen that I haven't been able to find yet? I tried to google this but to no avail...

When you go to Contacts and click on someone, their addresses don't show up? But they did before?

Simple question - have you synced it with your apple computer? In a sync, the contacts should show up. There is the contact icon and like YayTacori said, you should be able to tap on the person or the letter of the alphabet, and they should show up.

If no luck, email or call Apple's 1800 #. Or visit a genius bar in a store.

Yay, I had a blackberry before, and the addresses were all in there. When I got an iphone at the Sprint store and they moved my contacts I assumed the addresses came too...?

Enerchi, I don't have a mac, and I've never synced the phone since I assume (and shame on me for assuming!!!) that everything was being stored in the "cloud"? When I verified that the phone numbers and email were there in the Sprint store it never occurred to me to look for the addresses.

Holy cow... if I don't figure this out nobody is getting a Christmas card from me this year!!!

LOL!!! I also have the benefit of a apple freak that I'm married 2 plus 3 offspring that could probably program a NASA rocket with their collective technology skills! This is why I only know the basics - I don't HAVE to know anymore!

I went from a BB to an iphone (never looking back, BTW!) and there was a program I downloaded so I could preserve my info. Prior to that, I did go thru my BB and added all contacts into my mac contacts list, so I did have that advantage of doing the sync that way.

I'd suggest calling either Apple or sprint for their suggestions. You aren't the first to make that change over, so there are programs to help you get the info changed over. :))

Call the apple people. I don't have an iphone yet...I'm waiting for the newest to come out, but I had put some addresses in my current phone and when I clicked on contacts, I couldn't find the addresses. I had to touch some specific icon on my screen to make the addresses show up. I recall figuring it out once and then I FORGOT how to do get the addresses to pop up, so my advice is if you're like me and have 20 million things you're trying to keep organized in your head, write down how to get to the address screen! ;) lol (I finally found the solution again...)

I would definitely call Sprint. When I got an iPhone last Spring from Verizon, I had to download an app from the Appstore specific to Verizon that transferred my Verizon data from Verizon's cloud to Apple's icloud. Then it rained down on my iPhone, I guess. If you had had addresses stored in your Blackberry they were likely backed up to some cloud by Sprint.

So I went to the Apple store today. When I told them my addresses were gone, their first question was, who transferred my contacts? When I said that Sprint did at the time I got my phone, they just rolled their eyes and said, yah, this happens all the time. The only silver lining is that I kept my blackberry rather than turn it in for the credit becuase... well... what I can I say? I was just a little paranoid about giving it up, and for once that crazy paranoia paid off! I'm supposed to take my berry to the Apple store and they will try to get the addresses for me. Two caveats: I will end up with duplicates (e.g., the contact for my dad now has his number and email, and they will move the one over with his address, so there will be two), but there is a program for that that usually takes care of duplicates. ("Usually" -- yes, that is the word they used.) They also warned me that there is about a 25% chance the address recovery won't work at all... But they'll do their best. Anyway, next time I'm there I'll turn all my technology over to these people, go have a good stiff drink while they monkey around in the cloud, and come back hoping for the best.

Oh good, DeeJay, I'm so glad you went direct to the source. The Geniuses at Apple really are that - its amazing what they can do and just a click click click from now, you'll have your contacts back. As I said before, I went from BB to iPhone and I did end up using a program which did double up entries, but not all entries. (um... no idea why certain people made the double list...??) but it was super easy to just consolidate or eliminate the doubles. I think it even had a program where it identified the doubles and asked about eliminating them...

Any how, I'd feel VERY confident it will be resolved quickly and easily tomorrow - you'll be working again in no time!
