Fancy shapes are tough to buy strictly by the numbers. Many different combinations can yield a beautiful fancy or an ugly one. Have you seen this diamond? Is it eye-clean? If you have seen it, was it pretty to you? These are the questions you have to ask yourself.

Well actually I did see it and im thinking of purchasing it...it looks like a beatiful stone and the cut seems good to me. It really sparkles. I just thought Id ask here since peole seems to know a lot about stones with the given information. But after your post I guess it just has to look good to me and my girlfriend :-)

Was this stone from a local jeweller? I didn't check the price you quoted. You might want to check the pricescope search for stones of comparable numbers and color and clarity just to make sure that this price is in the ballpark of fair. If so, and you have seen and love it, go for it.

P.S. When I say fair, you can expect to spend a little more at a local jeweller. They usually have a higher overhead to cover. You just don't want to overspend by a lot.

I used the gemappraisal.com calculator and they grade the stone in the 2b or international Fine Cut range. The pricescope search came up with stones that were comparable in stats and price, so in those aspects it appears to be a good purchase...i think i have found my girlfriend a rock
