Since I have been surviving the last 2 years working when I can get jobs for my one person consulting company while looking for full time work it hits home.

Snort. The BLS has been doctoring those numbers, and others, for quite a while now. You can''t believe them much. Those of us here on the outside know better, as you can no doubt attest Strm. I love how they leave out those who have finally pretty much given up. Voila! They no longer count as unemployed!! But they still ARE...

I feel for ya...

Much of the doctoring actually goes back before 1994. I was largly unemployed in the early 90''s. I spotted the same phenomina back then. (there was about a 11 year period where I was either unemployed or margainly employed - life was not fun at all).

But, the article does indeed hit home - especially for those going through it - or those who have gone through it in the past.

i would argue that unemployment has been an issue swept under the rug by many devices for many years, perhaps as many as 15.
