In a larger round eternity band (0.45 ct per stone) is it better to use 14 or 18k gold for the setting? This will be an airline setting with shared prongs.
Do I need to worry about the prongs on 18k gold being too soft and losing stones?
Thanks!

Assuming white gold? Platinum would be best and is at all time bargain price compared to gold right now.
A lot of 14K white alloys tend to be springy and not stay where the setter pushed them. Platinum is best and long wearing.

@Garry H (Cut Nut) , any specific platinum mix you prefer. 950 vs 900 etc?
