I am going to Cape Town with my boyfrined. We will look at diamonds together there. I am guessing this will mostly be an educational trip. As I am pretty sure that I want to buy on the internet, as I feel it is safer and most likely cheaper.
The most important thing for me is to pick out a setting I want. My current fav is http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/settings-with-sidestones/Antique-looking-Bezel-Pave.html but we will see what I think actually I try on rings.
My question is what should I look for when looking at diamonds. I have done some homework on cuts, I am pretty sure I want AGS0 or 1, ideal cut, SI2, I or J, around 1kt..
Diamond Color comparison and size versuses karrat wait will be big on my list, but when it comes to table, depth and girdle, and other aspects of the diamond cut, I am at a loss. What are the most important aspects to concentrate on when I am comparing diamonds in the store?
Thanks,
Tara
