Selling a totally awesome sold to me as a "Victorian" sapphire and diamond crescent brooch, it has age to it but no hallmarks so I cannot confirm it is Victorian. It is clearly antique by the cut of the stones. It is set with graduated Antique blue natural sapphires and old cut and single cut diamonds in white faced metal (probably white gold could be platinum if its a later piece) and the sapphires are set in yellow gold. The stones are in a cut-down collet setting, 2.6cms high by 2.4cms wide. It's what I consider a medium size not too big and not too small. I'd estimate around 1 carat of old cut diamonds or just under, and at least 3 carats of natural Antique blue sapphires most likely Sri Lanka origin.
It would make a beautiful conversion to a pendant, I'd planned to cut off the pin part and convert it into a pendant but I've found a large sapphire I want to buy and am madly listing/selling unused items that I have sitting around to pay for it.
The sapphires look a mid pale blue in bad lighting or low lighting and a brighter mid blue in sunlight or under strong indoor lighting. Video link;
Indoors low/poor lighting;

Outside in the shade;

Inside under strong lighting (like shop lighting);

Price is $1250 USD ono and that includes $25.00 of free registered trackable shipping anywhere in the world. I've seen similar/comparable pieces converted into pendants selling for 3 to 4 times that price.
