I am also having a problem with this vendor. First, let me say I have bought many items via E Bay with good results ( including a Harley Davidson). I have a very positive rating, and this is the 1st time I''ve experienced a problem with a person and/or company. I wish I would have done my homework prior to purchasing. Here is my experience and what has transpired.

Purchased the below described ring on E Bay. The Company had a 100% positive and felt confident that they would deliver the product they advertised and represented. Paid for the ring the next morning. Paid for three day shipping.

I then received an e mail asking for payment. Replied that I had paid for the item and asked for shipping tracking number. Never received tracking number. Called and spoke with "Jay" who said they didn''t have the ring in stock and it had to be ordered (and here I thought I was buying a specific ring that they advertised). I then received a second notice payment due and sent another email stating that I had paid, spoke with Jay, and wanted the tracking number.

At this time I started doing my homework that I should have already done. Found this site and others that explained this companys business practices. Found out that the reason they have 100% positive feedback is they pay off customer''s to remove negative feedback. Read all the feedback and see how they blame the customer, but always seem to get them to remove the feedback (See examples below) .

So the ring get''s here. It is no way a color J as represented. It was brown and did not mactch the stones it sat between. It further did not appear to be the 1.25 ct center stone that I thought I was buying, but I did not weigh.

I took the ring and the certificate to a jewler to see have it sized. Asked if what was on the certificate represents the ring I received. They said no way. Different picture, brown stone, but said it was a pretty ring. So I left to return the ring. Now, the company will try to say " competitor killed the deal to sell one of their rings." But this vendor lost the sizing business and NEVER attempted to sell me a ring. So they lost the sizing business.

Called and spoke with Jay and relayed the story. Told him that I was returning the ring and followed his instructions to a tee. He asked if I wanted a replacement stone, and I said that I wanted a refund because I had no faith in the company at this point.

Called Mastercard and told them that I would be dispiuting charge. Wrote E Bay an filed a dispute "Items Not Received or Not as Described".

Received a call from a Rudy and ran down the story. It appears he is the Customer Relations "Fixer" as I have read in such forms. He was kind and understanding and stated he wanted a hapy customer and return business. He stated that they do a large volume of business and sometimes mistakes are made. And sometimes they do, but this with the billing, shipping and brown stone, is a three strikes. But I will give them one more pitch. I told him that I would wait for him to personally inspect My Ring and call me back. If he tries to say that the diamond advertised is the diamond in my ring, then I will know that they are a sham company and dishonest. If a mistake was made (AGAIN!) and they own up to it and make it right, so be it.

If they don''t, I will go on a crusade to save other''s from experiencing the same service. Read some of the e- bay feedback (the retracked responses) prior to deciding.

I will follow up this experience to either praise their customer service, or to damn it. The ball is in their court.

So, here I am out $70 shipping and no ring. Stay tuned for the continuing story.

That sucks. I hope everything turns out great. I''m curious to see how their customer service responds. Good luck.

" I started doing my homework that I should have already done"

You have a perfectly clear idea of why this happened. I hope this is sufficient warning to get copied to other places so more people know about this kind of problem. Consider the $70 to be "educational expenses". It is a relative bargain as it applies to many other expensive purchases in the future.

If I had a dollar for every horror story I have heard about this company I''d be a rich woman!!! I''m sorry this happened to you, but telling your story will help other''s from making the same mistake. Good luck!! Let us know what happens.

Good luck and keep us posted. So sorry you had to deal with this. Before I found Pricescope and was beginning my diamond hunt I called GBS after finding them on ebay. The stone in the picture looked cloudy, but, I thought I''d ask about it because perhaps it was the picture. The sales agent answering the phone told me it was because it was an SI2 and those just don''t sparkle very much

. Hmmmmmm...I thought that they were very uneducated there or lying and decided they would not be an option. Even with my very limited diamond knowledge (no PS yet) I knew that cut determined sparkle. Ah well, hope you have a good outcome.

Good luck and thanks for posting your story. There are a lot of trusting people out there (I tend to be one of them) and it helps to hear such a factual account of a transaction like yours.

Hope it works out for you, but sounds like getting your money back may be the best solution at this point.

That is too bad...I hope that they are able to make this right for you. What a shame that they pay people off to retract negative feedback

Thanks for all the advise. I want to give the vendor (Global Bargin Hunter''s) every chance to do the right thing. If they do, I will be sure to pass on that word. But if not, I want to warn everyone so they know my experience with this Vendor.

As "Rudy" said people make mistakes, if they own up and correct their error, I am good with it. But after doing a little more research that I should have done prior to buying, I started seeing problems similar to mine. But believe me, at this point I am none too happy with this company. But we will see, and I will report back as well as spread the word if it doesn''t work out.
I shut a Cadalac dealer for three days once until they did the right thing and found that I had a bigger impact then their tv adds on the community. And that was long before the internet.

I think it''s very generous for you to say this. I think they have had their chance to make things right, and they did something wrong at each step of the way. I would get your money any way that you can and run, and definitely warn everyone possible about this experience. By the way...we have heard many similar posts to yours here.

Afterwards, stick around here for a while, read the diamond tutorials, and hopefully your next ring buying experience will be a good one.

Follow up to original post. I received a replacement stone that was personally picked out my "Rudy". It took a couple days to work out the details to receive my ring today. Pretty ring, but greatly over rated. A VVS1 that has inclusions and flaws in a Loop? I am in no way an expert on stones, but from everything I have read and told, this is no way the ring they described.
23.gif
I would appreciate a little advise on the stone from you experts out there....

Will call Rudy tomorrow to discuss the discrepancy. I just wish someone would just be honest about their product. I realize that they are going to "sell" their product, but please, don''t send a Ford when you selling a Lincoln!

Now, we have new blood in the game. Scott ( same Scott who writes in the forum?) sent the following message:

Darron, I hope that you are happy with the replacement stone that Rudy sent you. I know that we here at Global Bargain Hunters do try to make everyone happy. The negative posts that reference from ebay buyers and pricescope users, are not representative of the hundreds of thousands of happy customers.

Please enjoy your ring for many years to come.

Scott

I replied with:
Scott,
I do not know your position. I have been working with Rudy and will call and discuss this with him tomorrow. Rudy said he personally selected this stone and stated it is a VVS-1. Now, when the color is much superior to the "brown" one I intially received, it is no way a VVS 1 stone. Under a loop, I can see many inclusions and flaws. Now, I will be the first to admit that I am no expert on stones, but every source I have spoken with states that these flaws should not be seen as easy. They are even barely visable to the naked eye.

So here I am, out $70 to return the first ring, a stone that is no way the quality the firm has advertised. Not to mention the frustration of this purchase. I do like the ring, but a little honesty would go a long way. And, I am none too happy about the claims of Global Bargin Outfitters.

It may be standard policy to inflate the quality of the diamonds, but that is less than honest. The prices are good, but my experience is that at a minimum, stones are inflated 3 to 4 grades.

Should You wish to discuss this with me, I may be reached 8 - 4 EST at 719-784-XXXX. I would enjoy to hear how this one is spun......

Darron Gall

So, as I said in my initial post, I will detail this deal untill resolved or I just plain give up (but I NEVER give up). Especially, if I feel lied to or made a "Schmuck". In my world honesty and integrity are ideas worth laying down your life for!

Don''t forget to send info on VSS1 stones and what should and should not be visible....Stay tuned & Thanks

UGHHH!! I''m sorry but not surprised. I have a VVS2 stone and can''t see anything with a loupe. So methinks once again you have been duped. I''ll let the experts chime in. I have never bought jewelry from ebay, mostly for this reason. GOOD LUCK!!! And thanks for keeping us posted, I pray you get your money back.

Darron, I missed your original post, but my advice would have been to learn your lesson on the first purchase and not even consider the idea of trying a second ring!

I am not a diamond expert, but what I know FOR SURE is that if a diamond is VVS1, you will not see inclusions with a 10x loupe! My diamond is GIA VS1 and I cannot see inclusions in it with a loupe, so I can guarantee you your stone is NOT VVS and probably not even VS! But after the first experience, this is not surprising is it?

The only think I would be doing now would be trying to get back my $70, I would not be entertaining the idea of purchasing from them at all especially with the feedback and now you have experienced it too. Do as Oldminer said consider it $70 for educational expenses if you cannot get the money back but do not UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES buy from them. Even now if I had got a diamond I thought was VVS after reading these posts I would have my doubts if it was a real diamond or what else was wrong with the mounting etc.

I would just stop the purchase NOW.

I second what these people are saying, DON''T reward their bad behavior by buying from them!
I don''t care if the second ring is halfway decent, at the very least you know it''s not what they stated.
it''s an issue of trust, and they''ve blown it.
