Hi guys,

I''ve researched this forum multiple times regarding standalone insurance for an engagement ring. I am having no success with locating a Chubb agent that will insure me without a concurrent homeowner''s policy.

Does anyone know any good Chubb reps that will work with me to help insure my ring?

Thank you!

I purchased my chubb policy through touchstone. I dont have any other chubb policies. I did the whole thing online, it was extremely easy.

Yes, from what I read, a valuation of $12K and up through Ralph at Touchstone will get the job done. If your expense is less...go fish...

I have Chubb through Touchstone too. They are very good to work with.

Thanks guys, anyone else have experience with Jeweler''s Mutual as well?

Thanks!

Chubb will cash out, JM will not.

I have JM. Haven''t made a claim but they''ve been very good about changes to jewellery/info.

Touchstone sounds great, but their minimum seems to be $12,000, and I fall under that mark.

Does anyone know of a reliable Chubb agent that I can contact for insurance?

Thanks!

Chubb is likely out of the question if your ring is not over $12000. You can qualify if you insure more jewelry along with the ring so that you go over the 12k mark. Otherwise, you could go with a company like GemShield (also provided through touchstone). They won''t give you cash, but rather replace or repair the ring up to insured amount. It''s definitely less expensive to go through GemShield.

I just read JM''s policy and it seems like cash out was an option??

What I liked was that the policy states that if there is damage and they replace the diamond, it is through the jeweler who sold the diamond originally. This matters because then you don''t lose the upgrade policy you may have.
