And how much do I spend? Not that much overall, I try to invest in quality products that last. I like Chanel very much and also Clinique. I also love La Mer for skin care which is ghastly for my wallet....

Because without it, I look like this.

See previous pic, you decide.

To date this year, I''ve spent about 15000.00.

No more pics posted, I''ve already broken the no post rule for myself.

*taking cue from whit*

Ellen! you crack me up!!! lol

I only buy makeup once or twice a year, and only buy about four -five items from Clinique but to answer your question about $100 a year average

Most of my stuff is from MAC. I probably spend around $200/year, which is moderate to low relative to my friends.

I really like MAC. It''s good quality, reasonably priced, and they have a lot of vivid fun colors.

Probably $150-$200 a year. Do I need it? Who knows. I think I do. All in the eye of the beholder, I suppose.

Hmmm...I spend $25 on MAC foundation every 4-5 months, and then about $12 twice a year on Neutrogena mineral foundation for days when I''m not doing much but still want to go out in public. My skin is really uneven, I''ve got issues with rosacea (I think that''s how you spell it) and acne, so I pretty much don''t go out in public without something on my face.

$0. I don''t like wearing makeup. I did buy the lip stuff that was used on me before our wedding but I don''t ever think to use it.

I usually go without makeup, but I definitely look more polished and put-together with it. I normally wear it only for special occasions. It's just too much of a pain to put on every day.

ETA: I don't usually spend a lot on it (I did this year for my wedding), since I usually get my makeup in free gift with purchase deals when I buy skincare products.

I don''t spend very much at all and probably should replace my items more quickly than I do. Because I have some minor skin issues I go high-end with foundation and powder. I also go high-end with mascara because there is a big difference in clumping. With the rest I just buy the cheap stuff at the drug store.

I like just fine without it and don''t wear that much on a day-to-day basis.

I spent $0 on the paper bag that came with my groceries. Covers up a multitude of sins.

<$50 a year. I buy an expensive mascara because it''s the only one which doesn''t clump. Other than that tinted moisturiser and lipgloss. Every now and then i splurge and buy eye shadow or something, end up using it a couple of times and then going back to my orignal routine.

What mascara are you talking about?

Around $50, if that. I''m horrible...I never replace makeup as often as you''re supposed to.

I''m a cheapskate.

I''ve tried nearly all the major namebrands and expensive brands; a hefty price tag guarantees nothing, and delivers very little in satisfaction. The local drugstore or grocery has everything I need.

500-1000 a year.
but that includes skincare, moisturizers, and perfume.

My must haves are:

Chanel mascara -$30
Chanel Glosses - $28 each
Mac Blot Powder - $20
Chanel Nailpolishes - $19 each

I don''t know how much I spend all around though because I buy the above as I need them but I also buy a ton of other things that I only use once or twice or never at all....just because it looked like something I might like in the store. This isn''t counting the facial cleansers and moisturizers though - with those, I know I spend a ton! (Kate Somerville, La Mer, PerriconeMD)

I wear makeup to enhance my good features. I also love playing around with makeup, which is how I ended up taking several theatre makeup classes in college.

I went through a phase where I was a bit of a makeup snob, and then I realized that I didn't look or feel any better after buying all of those expensive products. Now I'm all about the ingredients, not the label.

Now I buy mascara, a few key powder colors for eyes and liner, moisturizer, and lipstick from Target and Mac. It can't add up to more than $300 a year.

I spend a fair amount. Not sure of the total. Probably close to 1500. per year. I love love love Bare Escentuals. I think I have almost every color made. Since
there are no preservatives or chemicals spoilage is not a problem. I love the new Loreal mascara that is two sided (one white, one colored) and a Mally mascara
I bought on QVC. I get a few kits a year on auto-delivery with new colors.

I have a retin-A prescription that I fill a couple times a year, and I love LaMer eye concentrate.

I think I can get by without the make-up, but why would I want too?

I spend as little as possible on make up. Alot of my friends love buying make up but I''m not into it.

I wear just enough to slightly hide any skin imperfections and enhance my features. Typically I use concealer, a brow pencil, mascara, a very light powder foundation and blush.

I spend the most on my face sunscreen, super city block from clinique. It goes great under makeup and I''m as pale as can be so wear it year round to protect my skin.

BF thinks I look good without makeup, but I feel more comfortable going out with some on, even if it''s just the brow pencil and a touch of mascara.

Chanel Glosses - $28 each
I''m a huge glossimer addict and they last a long time (over an hour) so they''re worth spending more on. If you want a hint of pink on your lips, DancingFire, be sure to check out "Imaginaire." It''s amazing!

I use to spend quite a bit on makeup (about $200 a month) because I collected it - bought from every MAC collection and also tons of Stila every time they had new stuff come out. That was when I had a HUGE bathroom and tons of places to display and organize stuff. Since moving out of my previous house, I''ve ended up having to store everything in plastic bins, which takes the fun out of "playing" with everything, so I now spend about $50 a month and that''s mostly on creams.

Yeah, I do need a bit of makeup. I don''t wear foundation. Just need concealer and blush to freshen up my complextion. I love to wear eye shadow, though, for fun, so normally wear it daily (unless I''m going swimming).

Ditto. And, I buy during their promotions, with the result that I haven''t had to purchase a lipstick in years!

What mascara are you talking about?
Estee Lauder- More than Mascara and it's not water-proof. Doesn't usually clump for me and if it does it is significantly less than the other brands i have tried.

Lancome- Virtuose works quite well and doesn't clump much either (recieved it in one of those packs if you spend over x amount).

(They might be more expensive where i'm from than in America- so it might be cheap mascara for you)

Ummm average maybe 150 a year???

I haven''t bought make up for over a year, but when i was younger i used to buy LOTs of lipgloss.

The last item i bought for myself was the quad eyeshadow from chanel (i have two of those now) because they are SO good!

I use Clinique Dermawhite compact powder every morning, and a bit of lippy or lip balm...

DF, i don''t look horrible without make-up but i work in an office so when I have the time, i do put on mascara but most days (esp when i''m busy) i just wear my compact powder.
