Hi !

I am looking at this diamond, please tell me what you think, assuming the worst in the mind-cleanliness of the Si2 (feather, crystal):
Carat: 0.71
Depth: 62.7%
Table: 56%
Crown Angle: 35.5
Pavilion Angle: 41.2
Star Length: 55%
Lower Half: 75%
Girdle: Faceted. Medium to slightly thick
Cullet: None

Is this worth buying if it''s under 1,500 or do I have a better option ?

TIA

Are you buying this on the second hand market?? I don't see it going for under $1500. Need more details...

I should think it is. A friend offered this to me. It''s lasered and everything....

I wouldn't buy it even at that price, the angles are what we call steep deep, it will leak light and not sparkle as well as it could. It is also too deep for me with this type of diamond and could look small for the weight.

Aww... allright, then.... If you say so, Lorelei... Thanks for the advice anyway. I''m looking at spending around that amount for a centerstone. It is to go in a platinum setting with 2 long tappered baguettes. Can you give an idea of what I''d be looking at ? I don''t mind going for a medium blue K Si1 or eye/mind clean Si2.

I don't know if the above company do Idealscope images but it might be worth asking.

James Allen, ask for Idealscope if interested and check carefully each SI clarity is eyeclean to your standards

Need to request the lab report for this one, it looks like a great stone in the photo

I like the first James Allen. The Solomon''s JSi1 also sounds promising. How did you find these at such a short time ? My search always ended up with obvious inclusions. The price is not bad too. I''d wait and see what hubby has to say about these. I hope he''s not already frustrated with my buying loose diamonds, and none of them mounted yet.

I have a method! I check out the photos first, I can get a good idea of inclusions, overall cut, leakage and optical symmetry from the photo to know if it is worth going any further, then check what I see compared to the report etc, then if all is in order I select. Also with the SB diamond a cloud is listed as a grade setter so if you pursue that one check that the cloud isn't impacting brilliance, SB's should be able to tell you.

When I was looking at something from SB they wouldn''t provide me with any images. The JA ones look nice.
