I have learned a lot from everyone here and appreciate all the help I have received. I am strongly considering one of these four diamonds and would like to know what others think. Which one would you prefer? Are the prices good for the quality? Thanks for all the help!

in case this helps, my wife is petite and has 4.25- 4.5 ring size.

You could go down to SI1 easily, and either go up in size or down in price. Are a few of the stones from WF? You can always ask them to verify the stone is eyeclean (or any vendor for that matter) if you add some SI1s to your consideration pool. If you choose an H&A/ACA stone from WF, you could also go down to G in color and you wouldn''t notice a difference. I won''t yet rate your stones until I hear back from you about why are you going with such high clarity. How about considering a G or H / SI1?

Need crown & pavilion angles to really evaluate whether will be a good light performer. The AGS you could probably just go for, and not know the rest of the info, but you can see that in the price =) I'd second going to an F or G & down to a VS2 (but it's really about personal preference I guess)

Have you seen this already?

How does your wife feel about these diamond sizes? For me personally... I would much rather a bigger size than a vvs clarity or D/E color no matter how petite of a person I was. But i guess pricescope has morphed me into a size junkie

I like the combo of F/G and eyeclean SI1

My suggestion: Buy from a company that offers lifetime upgrades, just in case you want a bigger diamond in the future.

Good Luck

thanks for the ideas. I think it would be "safe" for me to go to a vs2, f around .70. The reason for my above choices are that my wife is pretty picky about color. she has an I colored diamond and the yellowish color bothers her a lot.

if anyone knows of any diamonds that might work please let me know.
thanks

What is your budget? WF offers a 5% discount on the stone if you wire the $, and either 2 or 3% if you pay with a card - I can''t remember which. I don''t really find anything F/VS2 in your budget of $2900 on their site in the ACA/H&A stones - which I think are beautiful and I''d definitely recommed. Me - I vote that you can go to G/SI1 in this cut and be really, really happy. An ACA/H&A in G will not look anything like the I she is wearing now. Many, many SI1s are eye clean, so you wouldn''t "see" any inclusions. These incusions not affect light return. I have a G/SI1, and I can''t even see the inclusions with the 10x loupe they send with the H&A stones.

Here is my G/SI1 - Do you think she would consider this too yellow? I only see white - and I look at this thing a lot every day! This ring is a 4.5 size. Stone is .831 and for my small hands, looks plenty big.

Try looking at a G color. It is in the near colorless range and it''s at the top. I am pretty color sensitive also and I try to stay around G or higher. Also in rounds, it tends to look whiter. My E cushion and G round are both pretty colorless, when I compared them. As for the clarity, as long as it is eye clean (ask the vendor) SI will save you some money.

All above are ideal polish and symmetry.

These are all stones recently added to their inventory, so they don''t have all their photos posted yet. Why don''t you email Lesley and let her know you found them on PS and request pictures of these stones (or any others you find during a search)? Also, request that they examine them to see if they are "eye clean". There is such a thing as "mind clean" that you need to consider in your quest for VS2. If you can get past the idea that the SI1 has a few marks on the AGS report, then the SI1 stone will prove to be a great value for your $. Based on the price of the stones you first listed, it appears your budget is no more than the $3k mark at the highest level. If the stones above are too high, do a search based on your parameters. Even though you speak mainly of your concern for high color, clarity, I''m sure you''d also like the largest stone you can afford as well.

That is a beautiful ring! I am just concerned that my wife wants vs and colorless from what she has told me and our friends. I think I have a few more ideas now. Thanks so much

Even if your wife is color sensitive, there is no need to go up to an E color unless unseen "purity" means something to you. Likewise with any VVS stones you are considering... anything above VS2 is overkill.

Also, even if your wife does not like her I color stone, I am pretty confident that a superideal cut G color would be totally white to her.

So, I would be looking exclusively at F/G VS2 stones (ACA or other AGS000), and get the biggest one in your budget, rather than spend money on something that cannot be seen.

I'm not sure what your limit is on price, but here is a .70 E VS2:

I wasn't having too much luck finding F color stones, but I think F VS1 or VS2 would be nice. I think if your wife values high color and clarity, that is important. You may can go down a little, but I wouldn't suggest going below F or VS is she has expressed those preferences.

(The one Boston Jeff listed is nice, too!)

Don''t even consider the adiamor option... not enough information, and the other two you are considering are AGS000...

Personally, you know which one I would choose, because I do not believe your wife can tell the difference between an E and an F after its set, but if you are set on getting an E, the JA option you posted should be beautiful.

Best of luck.

The E VS1 is beautiful! YOu can hardly go wrong with an AGS0 stone!
