Gemprint services - Peace of mind

Do top vendors like - Niceice, GOG or Whiteflash provide Gemprint services for a stone that does not have a laser inscription (for buyers peace of mind).

I know that Nice Ice does. They scan the stone before they ship it to you and if you'de like to register your stone you just send them the money and they mail the registration certificate to you.

I think that Gemprint is an excellent idea. You can get up to 10% discount on your insurance premium with many insurance companies. I got my triple H&A three stone ering from Superbcert and they charge a very fair price ($25/stone), which is half of what my appraiser would have charged.

If I am not wrong, you can probably find a listing on the gemprint website, where you can get the gemprint done.

We sell Gabrielle diamonds in Singapore, and all of them come with gemprint. Our experience is that it does give the customers peace of mind, because your contact details are saved in their database together with your diamond specs. There will also be a laser engraving on the girdle of your diamond.

In the US and Europe, many insurers give 10% premium rebate if your diamond has a gemprint certificate.

You may also like to check with your retailer if they can give you a diamond melody CD as well together with your gemprint. Basically, this is a music CD, where the unique light signature of your diamond is converted directly to music. So you can look at, touch and listen to your diamond. Do check it out if this interests you. I believe some information is available in the gemprint website on this as well.

Hi silvesterii,

I agree it is fascinating.

Basically the unique light signature is run through a computer algorithm (I am not clear on specifics) and the light information is converted directly to sound. The end result sounds like tinkling melody (but since it comes from nature, there is no man-made rythms).

If you wish, I could email to you an MP3 file of a diamond melody.
